I will try to add underwater macro footage (in 4K resolution) of all major species of aquatic insects important to us, Flyfishers. List • Fly Tying Entomology R...
„Scud“,“ Shrimp“, „Gammarus“ Most common and important of Scuds species is no doubt Gammarus Pulex.
These are complicated creatures, they have gills and fourteen legs on their thorax and twelve appendages on their abdomen which help with the circulation of water over the gills and swimming. Gammarus hatch fully developed from eggs and are able to reproduce rapidly. Adults can produce two generations in a year.
It's a widely available and important food source for fish, both in stilwaters and rivers. Abundant in tailwaters.

Hi Bret, Happy New Year! I hope you and Tereza had a great Christmas :o) Cool video, "Gammarus on Parade"! How come your first post was private? I browsed your Instagram while I waited for this redo, great photos. You and T are very talented. Her Bjuba was very cool. I guess I'm her only subscriber, I commented on that too :o) Well you both take care, thanks buddy.

Hi Joe! :) Hope You and Your family doing well in New Year, and thanks for wishes! I was after the Dragonfly Nymphs, but no luck. We have some ice covers on still waters, even the winter is very mild this year. So at least took these scuds. Very, very abundant on tailwaters here.

@@bkbretislavkaspar-flyfishi1502 thank you too! Yeah the weather is very perplexing, seems like it ain't what it used to be. Temps were almost 50F recently, I saw a black midge on my porch along with some caddis looking bugs I see every fall. Now it's gusty winds with temps in the teens. At least there's very little snow and today the sun is out giving us a dose of vitamin D, lol. Take care guys :o)
