Just ordered one of these and it was around 300 US dollars with shipping, tax, etc. Love the trigger stops on the Elite controllers but for this one it did not really matter to me since I play PS games with the triggers and bumpers swapped. I always liked using R1 and L1 for aiming and shooting better than those soft triggers on PS controllers. It solves that issue for me. If I have to depress the trigger a little more to throw a grenade its really not going to compromise my performance much at all. I decided to keep the adaptive triggers so I have full support for the full variety of games. I play all types of games and wanted an all in one controller for all playstation as well as all the PC games I play on emulators (PS2,PSP,modern PC games,etc). I also have a brook adapter which will let me use this on Xbox. If I prefer the feel of this controller over the elite ill be using it on Series X too. I may end up liking it better since the ps5 controller feels better to me in the hands and less deadzone on the analogs than xbox controllers. Xbox always had an issue with deadzone in thier analogs. The King Kong pro 2 controller fixes this but unfortunately theres no way to use it on PS5 games yet. The standard ps5 controller has a very slippery grip, despite being coarse, that pushed me over the edge and made me decide to jump in as well. Once I felt the Elite grips I never wanted to go back on modern controllers. The main concern I had was durability. The Elites do not last long and I kept them alive on best buy warranties, but those cost money each time. The reason I went for this now is because I looked into Scuf customer service and it seems like its pretty cheap and reasonable to get repairs done. Maybe 25-50 bucks to fix stick drift, which is inevitable. These controllers use the same analog components that wear down after 400 or so hours. I would never send anything into microsoft to repair as they seem to charge ALOT for any little thing. They also dont even offer replacement parts like the analog nubs. My thought process was I can keep this controller alive for many years if its cheap to make minor repairs every few years or so. 400 is pretty damn insane. 300 was pushing it for me. The idea for me is this will be the last PS5 controller I purchase if its easy to get minor repairs. Hopefully thats the case and I have a controller I can use for a very long time across many platforms.

I will say this regarding the scuf reflex pro. You can use the L1/R1 buttons to aim and shoot which are like clicky triggers . I started trying this out on Apex and it works really well. Also you get to keep your adaptive triggers! 🎉

Built one last month just for fun works well performs much better Base ps5 controller - $80 Tactile triggers - $67 Extremrate remap paddles - $42 Galaxy KF stick grips - $13 Total = $202 AUD

The crazy thing is I use it everyday. I kept the haptics on mine so no clicky triggers. I designed a beautiful mk 11 controller on aim, but never use it cause it lacks haptics.

Honestly don't know why they don't do trigger stops like the Xbox scuf version especially for those who want the option to use the adaptive triggers for racer's etc after playing something like COD..... oh well will wait for Sony's rumoured official PS5 Pro controller

Great review. I appreciate your thoughts and honesty on the Scuf. However, I do disagree with you on the price point and you kind of state it in your review here. You talked about how the paddles on the Scuf are amazing and the overall build quality of the Scuf is great. A lot better than the second controller that you showed. There’s the age old saying “You get what you pay for”. Corsair did purchase Scuf so quality control has been a lot better as of late so the controller (as long as the person using it doesn’t treat it badly by button mashing or dropping it on the floor) should last you many years. I feel like you should keep the Scuf since you spent the money and seem to enjoy it and just sell the other controller. I do plan on picking up a Scuf reflex tomorrow as they’re doing another drop and I look forward to using it. I’d get the base model cause I don’t care about the grip but for marketing to get people to spend more money they seem to be purposely holding the base model out and just keep doing pro and FPS drops which of course cost more money lol.

It's really to bad that you can change out the stick mechanism for that price. I know some manufacturers does have this option, but Astro stop making them and the other one has the bottom buttons pretty much away from the grab handle. Every controller is a totally rip off, since you can't change the stick mechanism when they drift too much or a5 least have software to correct it. Where are the next generation possibly magnetic ones? Has anyone figured this stick drift crap out yet? Not worth your hard earned money. To pay $250 you need a paycheck that's at least $350 to get to $250 after taxes.

This sucks because I order the scuff reflex bro and it won’t get here until April 5 it takes them a whole month to build these controllers and as I’ve been watching a lot of RU-vid videos I haven’t even received the product and I regret it already

You definitely got screwed on the price. Just got an fps for 273 after shipping and taxes.

If you’re rough on your controllers / avid gamer I highly recommend you don’t buy a scuff. You cannot repair them yourself due to a security screw. Gl if your out of the 6 month warranty.

$60 more for a more premium controller that's already built, with a warranty, with better components, and better rear trigger placement (you're words) just makes sense.....you're card wasn't charged more than it was supposed to, it was charged the amount of the customized parts you added.....nothing about this review makes sense lol.

Custom consoles makes reprogammable button kits that work amazing I made my own with the button layout I like!!! Better then a scuf and looks better!!! And WAY CHEAPER!!!!! WITH SOME LIZARD SKIN GRIP!!!! UNBEATABLE!!!!
