44:35 that Double Trouble chainsaw whiff hurt me. I love the DT but it does that kind of thing way too often. But overall it's an extremely good melee. The charge attack distance extends, and both the charged and standard attack can be canceled and have a wide window within the animations to hit that cancel. With kikaku booster using those cancels to pursue/rush down is a good way to take advantage of this strength.
Coral Oscillator's charge attack is much more effective if you're using manual aim and put your enemy right on the left boundary of your screen while firing it. Its normal attack is really good, resembling the pulse blade's charge attack but slightly worse. Best dual melee combo is pulse blade + stun baton... but laser dagger is a very viable alternative to mix in there.
On some ACs I juggle a shotgun for the stagger at close range-- although the Zim is better, I've recently been using Sweet16 because it doesn't seem to barrel snuff at point blank since it's so short... and it still serves the same purpose as Zim at mid range because it's more about making the opponent waste EN on a QB dodge.
Man I'm so bored of LCB tanks in these tournaments, but it does highlight the fact that they're much easier to play around when there's a minimum quality of internet being assured. Far, far worse in ranked matchmaking online. Can't wait for them to get nerfed into the ground haha
Do you guys ever ban stuff like LCB tanks? While it is certainly beatable-- its gimmicky reliance on AP and trading ridiculous damage makes for boring fights and overall lowers the skill cap of being a competitive player. Seems like if the community at large chose to reject these things-- people that main this would just have to adjust their playstyles outside of the context of the meaningless rank grind. It would only make them better players and enjoy the game more-- unless they like winning more than they like the game, in which case if they faded out of the scene it's no big loss. Thoughts/opinions?
lcb tank and lamb missiles are just not fun to play or watch, I think these combinations should just be banned in tournaments to promote a healthier competitive community.
@@wotwott2319 I can surely agree on that. I don't want certain players to feel unwelcome either-- it's just about pushing people to experiment and do a greater variety of styles.
With current patch, you should add bazooka tank to Basically any weapon that put shooting stance on tank leg cause it to recover stun insanely quick, bazooka essesiantly fixed your AC into shooting stance, causing it to invulnurable to direct damage & you can face tank any direct assault Sure you can change back weapon for missile to make it similar to LCB & missile, but once you bring bazooka & LCB, there will be nothing that can damage you without risking instant death or losing damage trade Unless they play rat with missile
Visibility reasons. If you ban a certain part then that part doesn't show up in the tournament (duh) and you don't get to see where the part stacks up relative to other meta parts. Fromsoft watches tournaments and tracks online data as well and if LCB is truly showing up to be a problem with a higher win percent than intended with its build costs and limitations than it will likely be nerfed before the end of the game's life cycle
@@richardjohnson8991 when it comes to seeing the meta, there's no substitute for spending an hour playing ranked 1's. That's kind of the point-- watching/playing tournaments is an opportunity to get away from the meta, and potentially see some great players playing in ways you don't frequently encounter in ranked. It opens up more of the game to people to see the alternatives, rather than concentrating on the same old thing. Individual theory crafting also becomes more significant because there's no meta to copy yet. Personally, I think there should always be tournaments that are everything goes-- but adding in variety of tournaments with regulations imposed would be so dope. Fromsoft also is capable of understanding that if some items are such a nuisance that a tournament banning them still is getting a lot of engagement reflects on the attitudes of the community to an extent-- because fun is not quantifiable. They've got more than enough data from ranked that they're not deprived of critical insight if a portion of tournaments ban things that are boring to watch. But yeah, TLDR the point is to get variety and get away from meta because certain meta things are boring to watch.
JC was a baller, but he plays a high-intensity build where losing concentration = immediate loss and was suffering for it. I feel that. I bet he's gotten a lot better over time tho, if he's still playing. I hope the next AC game has better netcode and they spend more time honing the game engine to make everything a bit less janky. This game's PvP is very cool, very stylish, it could easily hit the mainstream in a big way, but the netcode takes me back to Lost Planet 1 lol I'm so mad about it Great tourney nonetheless, sorry if this comment seems a bit generally spiteful but what is with the YT algorithm, it never recommended your videos to me. I'm very interested in AC6 but my recommendations refuse to show me some of the better channels out there, it's only through other CCs that I learned about the channel. Thanks for all the work you've done putting these events together for the community and commentating, hopefully an active community will lead to more fixes and content down the road.
I rock bvo and kinda agree, but the rest of the lightweight weapons need some buffs if that's going to happen. Vientos are popular for lws because it's sadly one of the only viable options right now. I do agree to an extent though.
@@remmy107 it's definitely a step above similar-weighted weapons for stagger-building. I've actually played with some of the lesser picked guns that can fill that role-- and while they're actually not bad, it's still essentially giving yourself a small nerf against other players that just won't do that. The other balancing aspect here is the strength and stagger-resistance of tank builds, because that makes it much more essential to run the V in BVO since running into tank (ew, attrition as a strategy blehh) builds is common. I've definitely had some good results with Sampus-- I think those are a little slept on. Still though, I'd love more balancing to help blur the meta and encourage more creativity in PvP.
I think the vientos wouldn't be as much of a menace if the other pistols had a longer ideal range. Right now it just seems like all of the other lightwieght weapons just gets outclassed by vientos because their weaknesses are too prominent.
I've been playing an LCB and LR tetra on the 128 gen and the amount of 8 second staggers into 20 second rounds has been hilarious. I feel like a villain and it feels so good

Just a bit insecure with my builds I am an S194? S186? I can't remember but if I see a tournament I feel confident in, I'll try it out.
@@somechinesedude5466 No, my builds aren't too OP nor have a specific meta role, which it was rather annoying to see her just chip damage then fly away, map rotation didn't help either so, like I said, its whatever I guess I hate to be forced to play meta BVO/Rat/Tank play style in order to win a match, I have builds I can win against these builds but sometimes "RNG" isn't on my side lmao
Ap lead fights get boring. I get wanting to win. Maybe it's just me. But i disengage when people run. Ive literally gone to use the restrom against rats and they still wouldnt come closeXD
Why would they get close to you when you're throwing throwing the match? If you wanna sulk in the corner for two minutes instead of playing the video game, that's your decision.
@@scottdick296 I don't sulk. I literally just walk away when I get bored enough instead of quitting the match. I'm talking Bout builds like tourney rats that shoot one missile volley, ab boost away, missile volley ab boost away kind of playstyle.
I’ll be honest, even as a heavy brawler, I play for AP lead. It’s important, because once you have AP lead, you get to reset stagger without creating distance between you and the opponent. If you create distance without AP lead, you are likely to need to chase the opponent for an extremely long time.
@@JD_Volt I hear you. It's a fundamental flaw in my opinion, granted it's one of many that's killed the game's pvp scene. It comes down to utilizing it to play cat and mouse versus some very efficient builds at the time being all about getting the lead and running. Playing hit and run, maintaining the lead through guerilla tactics, and getting an advantagous position because of ap lead doesn't bother me much. It's when builds are designed to just kite with ap lead and forever backpeddle when they get it. It made me despise lamber builds before the nerf because of it.
@@xenosayain1506 I certainly agree. The idea of having to fight for AP advantage (in my opinion) helps add a layer of depth to how many individual engagements occur within a given phase, but I will agree, it is INFURIATING to fight a build built around AP lead.
They should change wining by AP lead to necessitate a significant lead (i.e. >10%) because you shouldn't be able to be the best player in the world by not playing the game. Just add turn speed to tanks.
LCB are broken, how can anyone say if you take 2 of 1 weapon you deserve to win every match. it just makes a bubble of death that you cant enter. its not that good of gameplay and basically makes all midweights and even most heavy without lcb obsolete.
