Welcome to a tutorial on how to Configure the Traders on SCUM 0.7 - Below is an excerpt of what I spoke about in the video:
enable-economy : 0 OFF - 1 ON
economy-reset-time-hours : Although traders slowly and organically regenerate stock and money, if this value is set the economy will instantly reset at the given interval, fully restocking traders stock and money. If the value is less than 0, it never resets. The default is -1.0, meaning by default there will never be instant resets like this.
prices-randomization-time-hours how many hours it takes to randomize prices (if the value is less than 0, it never randomizes, defaults to -1.0)
fully-restock-tradeable-hours : How many hours it takes to fully restock tradeable item amounts in store, organically. If the value is less than 0, it never restocks. The default is 2.0 which means in 2 hours, a fully emptied trader will fully restock in 2 hours.
trader-funds-change-rate-per-hour-multiplier Similar to "fully-restock-tradeable-hours", this setting defines how fast traders will refill their Cash, organically. The default is 1.0, meaning a any trader with fully depleted funds will have their balance completely refilled in 1 hour.
traders-unlimited-funds default 0, if set to 1 trader funds will never deplete when players sell tradeable to them.
limited-tradeable sets the maximum amount of instances of that tradeable that can be present in the world. Currently only limiting vehicles is supported. Vehicles purchased and vehicles spawned in the world normally are counted independently.
delta-price : base price multiplier that determines the increase/decrease of the price displayed in store, defaults to -1 which means delta is determined by random chance. If the edited value is more than 0, that delta will never change, even after price randomization

This format doesn't work in GPortal but it's similar making it impossible to import your personal settings into a server without rewriting all commands.

Great guide! I'm not a server admin, but I'm a bit more technical than the admin on the server I play on. If I wanted to get experience with how to change settings for multiplayer mode, but I don't want to pay a host to have a server, what tools should I procure? What would be particularly handy is if I could edit files like you've shown then just provide them to the admin for him to plug in.

In singleplayer it worked just fine for me on a fresh start but trying to adjust it on a dedicated server from gportal in there json has not been working. The game has already been in progress on the server. I was not sure if it needs to be a fresh new game for it to adjust the prices or if its something that can be changed on the fly and the Gportal json just isn't working right now.

Is there a way to edit the fame point loss upon death to reduce or disable it, while still giving players a fame reward from PVP kills? I have an idea for a unique like economy, where certain items like weapons and weapon parts would have more expensive fame requirements to unlock them for purchase, but once they are unlocked, there would be little to no possibility of losing the unlock. To balance the higher fame requirements to get certain weapons and gear, the weapons themselves would be cheaper. For example, on my theoretical server, At first you can only buy handgun and shotgun ammunition, handgun and shotgun repair parts, and the stab proof vest as weapon and armor options from the trader. Once you get to 200 fame, you get bolt action rifles, ammo, and standard armor. At 300 fame, you unlock long range optics, and SMGs. At 450 fame, you unlock assault rifles, intermediate rifle ammo, and the heavy vest. At 600 fame, you unlock the SVD, and M1. Certain weapons would have higher unlock requirements than others, like the VHS, Ak15, SVD, etc. At very high levels of fame like 1500+, special unlocks would be possible, like frag grenades, nade launchers, stun grenades, etc. but they would have strict stock limits, random stock times, and high prices. Things that could easily be abused for raiding like m82a1s would be unavailable. The prices would also be reduced on the weapons, and the sell price of fire arms would be as high as 40-50% of the purchase price. The idea is to create a progression system, where everyone starts off at the bottom of the food chain, and works their way up with better gear unlocks, meaning early on they will need to rely more on what they find in the world, but once they unlock the good gear, it will be highly accessible, and I want to make it so that they never lose the ability to purchase it once unlocked, so that everyone has an equal chance to get high tier items in time, and the only way to do that is to disable or hugely reduce fame point loss upon death, remove the fame gain from easily farmable activities harvesting olives, and then set custom fame requirements for each weapon and armor.

Yes in the pause menu server settings or in your portal for your server. You can turn it off. Adjust cost per respawn options too

is this relevent anymore, when I tried for example make WW Wolfwegan, not for sale at trader, but trader can buy for 5k when you go to sell he usually offers 12k-17k. Is soemthing different between 0.7 when this was made and 0.85?

yes. you have to add the item based on the examples given in the file itself. For example, under A_0_Armory, there is an entry that shows how you have to handle this. You'll need the scum spawn command per item, which you can find in game as an admin #spawnitem item, with "item" being whatever you're searching for. the console will auto fill in whatever has the name that you've entered in "item", and if you're not finding your item there are sites that have all the info for items out there.

Pretty sure "Economy Reset Time Hours" is not how many times an hour the trader refreshes, but rather how many hours before a trader refresh.

If you are with PingPerfect: Configuration files on the backend - One will be the EconomyOverride File. If you are with Gportal: Configuration files > Select from the dropdown > EconomyOverride If you are with Nitrado: I have no idea If you with GGHosting: Log into yout control Panel, Selection from the vertical Tab Config files and choose EconomyOverride at the bottom.

hey, I tried messing around with adjusting 1 quad price, I noticed thought some items it wont let me buy, some default and evcen including the 1 quad i changed price for. When i click on some items it seems to have a limit and wont let me add the item/ vehicle to cart. Is there a way I can chnage this and also why wont it let me add certain items to the cart ?

@@xtrekkerx5524 Yes, It took a few restarts, but it did eventually take. Also if you are going in the A4 trader, that was missed in his file. But you can just copy it over from on of the other traders and then just change it to A4 instead.

So, I'm Having a problem with Prices being wrong its either staying at their default price or it's making them free even though I have put in the amount I want them to be. I'm Using Visual Studio Code then copy pasting it into the G-Portal Config File. I can't figure out what is wrong and have been working on fixing this issue for about half a day now If anyone knows why this is happening, please help me out. I am also Using the SCUM Admin Helper and for a few items its didn't change I don't know if the helper just hasn't updated for those items and I'm using the wrong spawn code.

I assume you can delete the file that you alter and restart the game to have it generate a new default file. Correct?

Correct - If you isntalled through steam - Just delete it and verify your game files. If its on your SCUM Control panel for a Multiplayer server - Just revert it back to it's original state.

My Discord link should be in the description. The Previous one was deleted for a good reason, if anyone used it, it would have been the same as having no file at all. I suck with stuff like this and I get scared I will ruin the game if I mess something up. What happenes if I put in the wrong name, also should I save the original text and if I screw something up, can I just delete all and copy paste it back in? Will the game even run if I screw up a line in here?

Just as Mr. Feudal said, delete it and verify it through steam. And if you want to be sure, make a backup of the original .json file then make a different .txt file and place your codes there before you replace. So that you can still double check it. It won't break the game entirely. 🤣😂🤣 But you won't know unless you try.

So the Economy file won't run if theres a Syntax error (wrong code) - However it will not stop you from playing the game. The only thing that will happen is the Traders will remain on default. Thats why theres [ ] Square brackets everywhere. If you screw up and you are changing it on singleplayer: Delete EconomyOverride.json, Right Click on SCUM on your Steam Library and select "Verify Game Files" - it will redownload a fresh EconomyOverride.json File.
