You can turn that off (as I have it) if you're in Single Player or run your own Multiplayer server. They can also go through windows. It was part of the 0.95 Horde Update. I have it set to where they can get through windows but not doors, so buildings like churches and garages, as well as certain rooms within buildings (like the lobby in the police station) are a "safe zone" where you can hide out from the zombies until they lose interest and wander off. It makes the most sense to me, personally, so that's how I have it set. I think of it as the zombies shouldn't be smart enough to open a door (turning a door knob), and you can already keep zombies from getting through doors by putting a lock on them. Most doors (IRL) would have locks on them already, so I view it as I lock the door when I close it (as I normally do for exterior doors at home out of habit). Like I said, it makes the most sense to me, but to each their own.

Chicken flavored ice cubes on a stick...Just what I wanted! That sounds like a horrible prank, like freezing hotdog water to add to people's drinks. Which is about how it felt eating the chicken skewer. No benefit to it, just oddly chicken flavored stuff on a stick. Yum...

Does it require .50 cal ammo, or can you make some kind of custom ammo for it that's easier to find than .50? Shotgun ammo is fairly easy to find (sort of). .50 cal, not so much.

Is it single shot or does it have a magazine? Either way, I definitely want to try crafting guns. I've never done that before, and with low loot, it might be the best way to get a decent firearm early on.

I'm pretty sure that hasn't happened with poorly cooked meat in the past for me, though. The skewers provided literally nothing. Even poorly cooked, which is the only way you can do it without seasonings or cooking equipment (grill, pan, pot, etc) (right?), should still provide SOME nutritional value. But those skewers provided absolutely nothing. Not a single calorie or nutrient at all. If that's how they're SUPPOSED to work, then that's broken. It means there's NO point in hunting/fishing/cooking for survival (meat only because that's all you have) since it's just a waste of space, time, and resources. Sounds like something that needs to be reworked to me.

@@FlailyMcFlailerson I think it's poor quality because it wasn't cooked until the timer expired. When you can, try again and pull it off the grill as close to 0 seconds remaining as possible. I've cooked steaks that way and been good with them, with and without the extra stuff. It's been a couple hotfixes ago, so I'm not 100% certain on it now.

@@FlailyMcFlailerson You can certainly test it if you want to confirm 100%. I'm just telling you how the game mechanics works. They aren't as realistic as people assume.

I'm sorry. I didn't mean to sound snarky or like an ass. It just bugs me when game mechanics that I really like in concept don't work the way they should in my mind. I'll have to play with cooking times and whatnot to figure out how to do it properly. Thank you for the advice.

@@FlailyMcFlailerson It's ok man. We've all been there (including myself). I still rant (to myself) about how Vitamin D works in the game. It's comically unrealistic.

I will try that next time, although I don't know that I'll be cooking any more until I find better ingredients, since apparently just plain chicken has no nutritional value whatsoever.
