Yeah I never understood why at champs Pool A seeds would play Pool B seeds. There was no incentive to have a high seed going into champs because one mistake, and you're playing a T2 team in WR1. Same thing happened with tK and Rise in WW2. And then theres EG in WW2 who didnt play a Top 3 team until Winners Finals, because they were in Group H. Made zero sense.
Makes perfect sense, if the 1 seed loses to the 16 (who would be in their group), they swap seeds going into the bracket. In the bracket 2 would play 16, 1 would play 15, etc. It incentivizes you to win your group.
@@IX_Efilnikufesin obviously everyone tries to win their group, an incentive in that regard is irrelevant. it's a poorly seeded tournament that only incentivizes you to not be a top seed because you get punished a lot harder for mistakes compared to the lower seeded teams that get way easier matchups
@@KyleH20s if the 1 seed wins their group, they will play the 15 seed. If the 7 seed wins their group, they will play the 9 seed, etc. If you get second in your group when your group has lower seeds, you’re gonna be punished in the first round of the bracket. The is how any group play into double elimination tournament works
