Chkdsk worked for me. You have no idea how happy I was too. I recorded an hours worth of 4K driving thru the Great Smokey Mountains and after moving one of the 12 files from the drive, it corrupted. I looked for hours for a fix and your suggestion fixed it in 15 seconds. Thank you!

Total scam I have written several times and they delete my comments I bought the full version and it took more than 72 hours to recover the files of which none served all say error I think they only steal your information they never respond

I don't mind loosing my files, the problem is that i can't format it. It just says that Windows was unable to format... you don't help much and i don't have to pay for help.
My sandisk ultra card just failed. It has a corrupt file on it and seems to be in read only mode and can't be changed or formatted in any way. Luckily I was able to copy my files to my desktop so at least I could save those. It just sucks that my 1 year old 32GB card failed.

I found your video. Something worked that I did. Thank you! Apparently there was a corrupted file on the card. It's from my husband's phone. I backed the files up to my laptop after I finally was able to read it. Formatted it. Put it back in the phone, and hopefully he'll be able to find his files. 😁
My card was working perfectly until today. Suddently I noticed several apps were missing, then when I went to check my storage it said there was no external storage inserted. I removed my card, placed it in a card reader and tried to view it on a laptop,but again it didn't register that anything was inserted. Is there anything I can do? I tried cleaning it with isopropyl alcohol and an eraser ( as suggested in several videos) but still the same result. Thanks
Thank you, your program helped me recover photos on a corrupt SD card! One thing I noticed is the recovery program was able to recover more photos after I formatted the SD card. I recommend if you use this program to format your SD card first. :)

thank you so much for this tutorial! my sd corrupted on a date and i lost hundreds of photos my bf sent me over the last year, as well as some camera shots on my phone and i started crying. most of the photos were able to be recovered, but some were still too corrupted to recover. nonetheless i have the majority of them back and cant thank you enough for this video!

All well and fine if Windows knows you plugged something into PC, though it might not know what. Suggestion to plug into another device is fine, but the answer we all want, is what to when doing so does not work, and to that answer you offer no solution. Useless video. You talk about the obvious that can be found on the web.
Hey thanks, I was having issues with a micro SD card where I had videos saved from my nintendo switch on it. Helped a lot doing a check disk with the command prompt when I couldn't even right click the drive normally without it trying to format itself.

I accidentally formatted my SD card and I used the Recoverit Data Recovery Program but it says no files found even though I stopped using it when I formatted it so nothing would be overwritten. Am I doing something wrong/ what should i be doing next? Thanks.
I think you have to un-format it. I'm no expert but while browsing for solutions, I found that un-formating should recover the old files. Just something I found, dont take my word for it

OMG! You saved my data!!! The command prompt worked perfectly! When I typed in what you said, it showed that a bunch of things were corrupt but it fixed it all up! Everything is back to normal now! I'm gonna sub to you and watch more of you handy videos! Once again thanks!!!
@@someonespecial1234 Basically, you have to type "chkdsk (what ever your sd card letter is when inserted into computer: /f". So, if your sd card letter is"y", you would type "chkdsk y: /f". Hope this helps.
@@Jayy16_ Not sure if you fixed your sd card but my sd card did get corrupted. It was a 64 GB micro sd card. It was recognised before & after the corruption took place.

@@someonespecial1234 "e" Is the drive letter assigned to the memory card in his computer. Check what the drive letter is on your computer and use that. "Y" is "yes" In computer terminology, "N" is "No". So, if the computer prompts a yes and no question use that accordingly. In this case... Use " Y" to fix it. The process takes a minute or two so please be patient.
Hello.. just want to ask.. if I use the Cmd method.. do I just need to type "letter for my sd : -dash- /f" and press enter?... or is there another step after that? cuz I just bought a new SD card for my phone to do my work on site picture... and it just kept on "read only".. pls help.. im not an IT guy or electronic stuff..
Hi there, thank you for your question! Typing the command "letter for your SD: /f" and pressing Enter should initiate the process. Before that, identify the drive letter by typing "diskpart," then "list volume" to find your SD card's letter. Once you initiate the repair process, wait for it to complete, and safely eject the SD card.

So my phones photos, low priority apps, videos and documents and more on your 512gb sandisk extreme just vanished. The phone game me an error saying the drive was not fit and it would be marked as read only. I rebooted the phone to see what happened and the drive was blank/unable to be read. In the sd card reader into the pc and Windows said the drive is corrupt and not available. Went to disc manager and nothing. So I watched this and all the basics didn't work, then I did the disc error check via CMD like you said and nothing. So relabelled the drive letter on it and bam now the CMD function worked. So it opened the drive and... blank.. But now it shows up I am using recoverit and a few hours later it seems to have found some files, still got some percentage to go. Doesn't look like it will get everything, to few a files but if I can recover any of it that would be amazing. Thanks a ton!
There is a locking slider on the side of the card. Make sure it is pushed into the down position (unlocked). If that doesn't work, then good luck cuz ur own ur own.
I tried to delete files of my sd card and it tells me "failed to delete " and I tried to format it , it tells me it has been formatted, but my files isn't deleted at all

I followed the instructions for each stage and nothing happened so I tried to format my SD card. My PC came up with a warning that ALL data on the card would be erased!! Where am going wrong?

Jack Hubley Unfortunately the memory error I was wanting help with is the one that screws up the card so nothing will read it, format is greyed out and unavailable on the camera and card reader for usb, built-in laptop reader, disk management, Hard Disk Sentinel and EaseUS Data Recovery will not recognize. Both SD cards were surface scanned, error checked and properly formatted before they were put in the sx280. I took a few pictures before I got memory error. Now both are unreadable and unrecognizable. That's what I need fixing.
