Rachel, may I suggest that you create an episode specific to SDS approval timeline & common reasons for rejections for PH applicants? I surmise most of your subscribers are aspiring international students from the Philipines, and a lot of them for certain would be highly interested to know what to expect, what to do, and what to avoid in order to increase their chances of approval. The trend of rejection from PH is disturbingly increasing. This is sad and could affect future applications.
Greetings from Myanmar! Your reviews are the best as always. Kudos to your work. I have been your biggest fan and your variety of reviews did help me a lot in order to study at the dream country. I have been waiting for the study permit approval and it has been 12 weeks already now which applied through regular stream. I am keeping my finger-crossed to get it fast. :) My question is some students here are now applying for the study permit through new portal. If you have details of differences between GC Keys portal and new portal, and Filipino students are also experiencing this, I would be more than grateful to you to know of your reviews regarding this. Or if you have already reviewed this, kindly navigate me to your video. THANK YOU!
Answering your question about legal resident according to what I read on IRCC website; " Who isn’t eligible for the Student Direct Stream" If you live anywhere other than 1 of the countries listed above (even if you’re a citizen of one of the countries above), you must apply through the regular study permit application process. If you live in another country (even if you’re a citizen of one of the countries above), or if you don’t meet the eligibility for faster processing, you may still be eligible for a study permit through the regular study permit application process. LISTED COUNTRIES;- SDS COUNTRIES
Thank you Rachel!! Very informative as always! I really like how can you make complex things sound easy. :) Any personal reco school in BC next to BCIT? I
For quality education and a big campus life: UBC, SFU or KPU are pretty up there. I’m not even a student there but find myself gravitating to their campuses 😂 It’s a vibe and i honestly feel compelled to work there too 😘😝 Most graduates 🎓 there also have good job prospects after school - so that’s also a major plus ☺️
Sa SDS hindi sya base kung nasaan country ka but your citizenship Tapos ung GIC dapat hindi saktong 10k cad kasi may processing fee pa. Better na 10,200 cad ang iprepare
Hi Rachel, thank you for the great quality content! A question on SDS requirements: Are the proof of 1-year tuition payment and GIC with CAD 10,200 (inc. bank fees) already sufficient as "proof of funds" for SDS, or are additional proofs of funds still necessary?
That’s an excellent question! Generally, it’s better to have more funds. As a safe bet, have at least 50% of your totally tuition and living expenses prepared for the FULL duration of your stay in Canada 😊
Hi Rachel. Lodged my application last Jan 21, 2022 under SDS. Biometrics done Jan 31. Medical Passed Feb 09. Until now, no update yet. May 2022 intake at SAIT. More than 2 months of waiting.. from PH 😁🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
@@dordih4869hello po tanong ko lang po kung nagpasa kayo ng updated acceptance letter nung nag defer kayo ng studies niyo to the next intake (sept intake) sa ircc?
I applied using SDS stream almost 11 weeks waiting. Fingers crossed sana dumating na this 12th week. I expected faster processing since sds i dont know kung ano nangyari.
Yeah, that is soooooo weird!! I've been hearing that regular SP applicants have been getting their results faster. That ain't right since mas stringent yung requirements for SDS. HUHUHU i'm so sorry to hear that but hopefully your good news comes soon! 😟🤗😊
Salamat ate rachel, btw I watched all your videos, sobrang nakatulong sakin in every aspect na related sa paglipat ko sa canada maraming maraming salamat po.
Hi Miss Rachel, I already got my visa approved. I applied via RSP and it took almost 2 months. Based on the summary that you gave about the medical exam, is it okay for not to take it because IRRC doesn't gave me an instruction that I should took or not. You're answer will help me so much, thank you for sharing.
Hi, just starting watching your videos and I love them! I do have a question, if I'm from the 14 countries that have SDS have, do I have the right to choose between the 2 or I must go with the SDS? I am on the process to start applying but I need to get this doubt out of the way to see which one I go with.. I'd appreciate a response, thanks! :) ♥
First of all, great content, thanks for sharing the information. Planning to apply for a study permit for my master's, I just wanted to ask if you think, I would need a police clearance from the US (I studied there back in 1998-2001), before I moved back to the Philippines and lived here ever since? Or an NBI clearance would be enough?
I personally applied through the regular stream and got my approval after 2 weeks (applied March 1, approved March 14)! Sometimes, luck just slaps you in the face lol (edit) To add, my friend applied via SDS in February and still hasn't heard back. So it's weird, we don't understand why I got approved so fast either. My friend has a GIC and paid a full year's tuition already while I only showed bank statements and other proof of funds. I also hadn't paid my full 1st sem tuition yet at the time of application. The processing time on the website seems unreliable based on our experience.
Oh, another addition: I applied through the regular stream, but I submitted the documents that the SDS application requires, except for the GIC and full tuition payment.
@@eeuunnlol nice tip. I initially was aiming for SDS but doing regular stream instead - though I am submitting IELTS, GIC as well. I did some initial payments but not the full term yet.
My girlfriend applied for the regular study permit and she had the result after 4 days. I applied for the regular study permit and I had the result after 3 months
*borat voice* Wowawewaaa, very nice (at least for her) 😝 I guess it really depends on the visa officer handling your file 😅 but yours was fairly quick too! Which country did you both apply from? ☺️
Hi! Family of 5 here from Philippines. Does age make a difference in applying thru RS? I'm 42 and my husband is 45 with 3 minors. Can you suggest a more effective pathway? Thank you so much!
Hi… when inside Canada to apply for a study permit, what are the short term courses you need to do to obtain your study permit? Assuming I already have my IELTS… Thx
Hi Rachel, I applied for my study permit from Indonesia (regular stream) on October 18th 2021 and got the approval on November 5th, I guess it's because not many people from my country applied to Canada (?)
Hey Rachel ur videos are very informative.. actually I want to know do you help in writing sop? I have taken IBM one year course in Cambrian college. So I want to write regarding colg n course n future prospect regarding the same. Can you help. I have working experience in sales and managing stock and production.
Question po: If I apply through SDS do I still need to show them 1M or more worth of my bank certificates/statements even if I do have the GIC and paid the whole year tuition fee?
Hi, I did biometrics on 7th March and I was not instructed to do medicals until today..how long does it usually takes to be asked for medical after biometrics? Thanks in advance
Just to clarify, if you’re applying under SDS - it’s only IELTS or TEF that is accepted as proof of English proficiency to qualify under that program! If you were applying for the regular studypermit stream, you need a letter of acceptance - with some schools requiring proof of language proficiency as part of the academic requirements. Each school has their own accepted language test scores, with Duolingo possibly being one of them. Still, you’d have to double check with your chores in school and program.. 😊♥️
They said, it takes 13 weeks to process study permit applications outside of CANADA - so hopefully it’s a shorter wait for you after giving your biometrics! 😊❤️
Hi i watch alot of videos of you i like your videos but i am working in uae and want to wok i canada but when i went to consultant they are all scams so can you please give me information or help💗💗💗
Oh no! I’d recommend you visit an immigration consultant or lawyer based in Canada 🥺 they’re authorized to give you legal advice on immigration matters ☺️
