SDSU Aztecs Arrive Back Home After Historic Final Four Advancement

Following a historical advancement into the Final Four, the San Diego State Aztecs arrived back home early this morning to a crowd of supporters.
The team will be headed to Houston this weekend after a 57-56 win against No. 6 Creighton, making it the first-ever time SDSU competes in the Final Four. "We have more to go. I feel like we can win the whole thing", said Darrion Trammell, who scored the game-winning free throw with 1.2 seconds left on the clock.
Coach Brian Dutcher expressed his gratiude for the overnight crowd. "Thanks for waiting so late at night to welcome us back", Dutcher commented before calling the team's supporters the greatest fan base in the country. "We seem to be focused, and we've got as good a chance as anybody else". The Aztecs take on Florida Atlantic this Saturday, April 1st just after 3 PM PST.

As an Aztec fan for over 50 yrs now living in east Tennessee this brought tears to my eyes! I miss the city, the University, the people, the fans, the players and staff of SDSU. Thank you Sir and all of Boise for your support! To all the fans of the other teams in the MWC we thank you also. We couldn't have gone this far without your teams preparing us with their play in conference. Much respect to all. On to Houston as we continue to represent SDSU, San Diego and the MWC and try to win it all. MWC the classiest conference in all of college BB. GO AZTECS!

I flew in all the way from Massachusetts to see a game during the 1999-2000 season. There were more cheerleaders than fans in attendance. I believe that we were the only ones in our section across from the Aztec bench, and remember Coach Fisher looking at us. He was probably wondering why we were sitting there instead of midcourt, as there were plenty of better open seats available. The new facilities were impressive, and you could smell the future success thickly in the air. I felt 2011 was our year, and then again in 2014, and again in 2020, but 2023 sits well with me because Coach Fisher got to enjoy it too. Aztec for Life! Congrats Coach Fisher! The 2010-11 season was amazing. I got to attend a dozen road games and one home game, including the Anaheim game against UCONN and the Kemba Walker flop.

Great team, great people. You represent well, but you still have more to go. The odds makers still don't respect what you do. Opening odds are that FAU is supposed to thump you. Go Aztecs!
