I've watched Lee Min Ki in Beauty inside and i really couldn't stand his acting, so i'm scared to watch this. So i would like to know please how his acting was in this drama?
yeah so far my favorite out of all kdramas I’ve watched, I cried so much because I see myself so much in Jiho :( we even have the same birthdate but not the year. Feels so real.
This was such a heartwarming drama, I loved everything about it, the way the main lead's relationship grew slowly and with effort, how they actually talked through their problems even with all the misunderstandings, the books and movies referenced in the show, the beautiful friendship spanning years between the female characters, how each character worked around their insecurities, how the women dealt with everyday sexism at the workplace, finding the strength to fight back, how all the three female characters had an entirely different view on love and marriage and how the men they loved had their own perspectives about it as well but they talked and fought and worked on it, and they were all right in their own way, how the drama wasn't preachy but yet managed to convey thoughts about, love, relationship, marriage and traditions in a profound way. I hope I get to watch more of these realistic, awesome dramas
So true, with other dramas at times am like screaming at the tablet or phone, "Tell him/her" when the lead girl or guy keeps secrets supposedly for the good of their loved one, but instead everything goes the other way. This drama was so different to that. I loved how they talked to each other if not in person, over the phone. It made me wish I had a relationship like that😕
One of the best kdramas ever made. The cast is spectacular especially Lee Minki and Jung Somin. Rewatched the series a few times this year already. A masterpiece!
let me summarize this drama if you have doubts. So basically, the guy doesnt have feeling like ordinary human does, but because of the girl that rented his room space in his house, he became more exposed to human emotions which lead to him being able to understand that he needs someone else other than himself. (Im still screaming out of happiness.)
@Abhijeeth Babu yeah, you see hints early on, but its from trauma and I guess a self made promise. He tried his best, but really how can you not fall in love with a girl like this
I watched this when it was released, so the plot was a bit hazy. But I recently just binge watched 'the smile has left your eyes' (amazing drama by the way, hence how I ended up here to satisfy my withdrawal symptoms), and when I initially read your summary I thought you were describing that instead, lol.

this was the most realistic drama ever i watched...they just nailed the characters. ost's are awesome. 9/10 for who is thinkin about watching :) -1 cuz a lil bit lack of romance and slow scenario
He was slow because of his first love, she told him not to love anyone, this left a big mark on him... well his personality was common that's why it was slow. He performed it well!
The last part of episode 16 made me cry a lot. When Se hee thought that he was just dreaming having ji hoo right infront and talking to him. When Se hee fell his tears and saying what his heart says to ji ho.. please watch this you'll fall in love with their love story. Lee min ki and Jang so min are really perfect cast for this drama.
Though sweet, Sehee deserves much better than Jiho. I think its impossible to change my mind judging from all her actions especially, it's a shame because they really did have cute moments, but at the end of the day he still deserves so much better.
I thought I was the only one to find it very realistic. This dramas really wears well its name, we can relate to some situations. It's really emotional even tho the story is simple, not too complicated, and I love it. It just touched my heart somehow; thus I watched it during a tiring period of my life, I felt very relaxed when I watch an episode of Because This Is My First Life, because I was living a similar situation to the lead female where I was asking myself about my life, my future. I'm happy this drama gave me strengh, I really advise it, it's like a *must-watch drama* 😂❤❤❤
When I don’t have anything to watch I randomly type must watch k dramas etc and then I start to read the comments coz that’s where u will find drama recommendations! And this was one of the recommendations in one of the random comments OMG happiness that moment was finding a Kdrama which I haven’t watched and turning out to be a gem ! I finished it yesterday and I already miss them !!!! 😭🥰😘
This is my comfort drama. The script is well written. I watch this drama for forth time already w/o skip. And everytime i watch it, it come w diff perspective.
I was a girl who only loves cringy highschool love stories when I first start watching kdramas. But now it changes . I love more realistic dramas like this. Pls watch it if you have tym. You will enjoy it .
Sehee and Jiho they are the most beautiful couple i've ever seen . Even though there are more fun and interesting couples their story just stands out to me . I hope I will get a true love like them ( I know that won,t happen but still let a girl dream) . This drama will always have a special place in my heart i will never forget the lessons I learn,t from this drama .
I have watched this Korean drama for a lot of times already. This is by far one of the best dramas I have ever watched. Everything were so put together. A 12/10 show indeed!

This series almost broke me. I honestly thought it was going to be another sad ending KDrama, and was sooo bummed out. Thank goodness she came back. And I loved the story of the 3rd couple, with the strong female. I was cheering for them the whole time.
Well in this drama there is no hero and heroine. They are just ordinary people goes with a flow... no any unrealistic thing but a realistic love story. If anyone haven't watched it yet please go and watch, it's worth watching❤😍😍
I love how it wasn't some sci fi fantasy where this guy is void of any feelings and a girl comes saving him. No, he had feelings. But his view point of life and people's expectations from him led him where he was. It's almost as if his peers expected him to be an emotion less robotic human only for his own personal and valid way of living though he was a very humane person. Expectations lay a huge part in how someone perceives themselves. Just because he had hard time articulating his emotions (like alot of us really) he was catagorized instead of understood. It took an environment of acceptance and support to actually find things he didn't imagine having. Their bond was so beautiful that I almost didn't even care if it would work out as romantic or not but I'm glad it did cause I shipped them alot
This is so true, but as I came towards the end all that I could think about was how much better he deserved than what he got. There was just something that does not sit right with me with how Jiho went about things.
The best drama everrrr.. like literally I’ve been watching this drama for 5th times already… this drama so realistic in today’s society problems, especially how the mother in laws treat towards the daughter in laws 😭
I really love this drama it's look like a true story. The characters dream, and they want for their life. It reminds us that everyone has different decisions.
The chemistry was just chefs kiss and this serie just proves how marriage isn't really necessary. God, this drama did not only show these two but also what happens between the other characters. This drama got me smiling giggling crying and dying. This will remain my favourites kdrama.
i watch this drama in my early 20s and i feel happy as a whole. the way i actually can understand the character and the reasons to their actions, why they act certain ways when they face something. the feelings they feel were expressed beautifully and very poetic which i also somehow relate to most of them. i wonder how i would feel when i watch this drama in my 30s...... when work lifestyle culture, house and marriage would be the burden of my future me.... would i feel the same way as i feel today? but anyhow, btimfl is surely a slow plotted drama but in my opinion, every moment in this drama happened at the right time. it shouldn't be earlier or later.... thats why i love this drama eventhough it is slow

I finished watching this drama last week, but I just can't move on to another one. I loved the story so much, and now I can't moved on. It just left this warm feeling in my heart ❤️
The song is just beautiful. The way this vdo was edited actually portrayed the entire story from beginning till end where viewers like me fall in love, bit by bit, with the story, the music and most importantly the way the characters played by Jung ho min and Lee ki min fall in love with each other. This beautiful K drama leaves a haunting impact once this series is done watching. I want to thank Netflix and the entire cast of BTIMFL for giving us, the viewers outside South Korea a treat and personally for me, a coping mechanism to deal with these tough times of this Covid 19 lockdown
If you ever plan to rewatch it and you need subtitles, I really recommend you try other place from Netflix, like viki.com, where subtitles are much more useful than on Netflix. There are many nuances and Korean idioms in this drama where Netflix gets lazy and makes the translation to fit American idioms or understanding, and thus some things characters say sound out of place or just a as a random nonsense unrelated to anything. For example, the scene where Ji Ho hands Se Hee water after they came back from their parents, he says "It's water!", gets frustrated and storms off. Watching it on Netflix I had no idea why he said that, why water made him so upset? It made no sense. On viki.com they actually translated and explained the idiom Se Hee used when talking to Ji Ho's father - he said something like "Your daughter's hands will never need to touch water" (as in washing dishes, cleaning house etc) which apparently is the Korean idiom for "she will not need to lift a finger" as subtitled on Netflix. Only now it all made sense to me why he said that later and why he got frustrated :). Also, subtitles on viki are much more consistent when translating written text which is shown throughout the drama (book titles and authors, phone messages, messages written on post-it notes, even OST lyrics where possible...)
Wish tvN consider making Season 2 of Because This Is My First Life. I want to see how Nam Se-Hee and Ji-Ho as parents. I want to see them interact more with their in-laws and co-workers. I couldn't get enough of Nam Se-Hee and Ji-Ho.
I just finished watching it and it was soo interesting that I finished in only two days .after a long time I found a drama this interesting . I also recommend this to my friends and thanks for your Hard work and effort in making this vedio.
i need to re watch this again cuz the first time i watched this was in tv, dubbed, and with my brothers so cant really remember the ending but i’ll try to watch this again after law school or imma just put law school on hold who knows

Director PARK JOON HWA and writer YOON NAN JOONG show that an overly dramatic and negative storyline is not necessary for a good result. This series had a great emotional effect precisely because of its simplicity. LEE MIN KI whom we see for the third time proves to be the Iceman, although fortunately in this series as NAM SE HEE was finally melted by the warm Love of YOON JI HO. Very good JUNG SO MIN whom we have unfortunately seen very little of in our first 14 months of K-Drama. In his role as YOON JI HO she showed great intelligence and sensitivity, choosing the right approach in the not easy task of getting NAM SE HEE back on the right way. An excellent series that we enjoyed very much
I don't watch tv dramas but this tv series, Because This Is My First Life got me hooked. I became an instant Lee Min-Ki fan after watching Episode 11. Lee Min-Ki, you turned me into a lunatic fan :-)
Actually this is what I wanted from kdramas. I don't want to tear my heart apart 💔💔 by watching school 2015,Love Alarm S2 and .... Because my heart atleast want beautiful stories in dramas.
The drama is freaking good..the plot and everything..but the chemistry between actors are unbelievable..they made for each other..not only the main leads..but other two couples are also have a great chemistry..
