Nice couple of sessions my self Saturday and yesterday, afternoon incoming tide at Aberystwyth. Saturday a dozen Whiting (still here), 4 Dogs and a Dab, surprising as it started overcast and first 2 fish in 10 minutes, a hour and half then went clear sky and beating sun so catch rate slowed. Sunday overcast, thought would be same as 2 fish in 10 minutes but was not too be, was a bit calm I think compared to Saturday. Still ended with 3 Whiting a Dogfish and my first Blonde Ray, only small (19inches across) but a nice surprise, fought a bit as well. Will be trying Wednesday outgoing morning/afternoon tide is the next plan.

Nice and peaceful session, are you going down to fish mixed ground marks anytime soon, like holywell/grand hotel area for bass, I do know some good marks down there that produce on the big spring tides.
What sort of distance do you generally chuck baits out to from the beach? Used to fish Eastbourne beaches as a kid in the 90s and it always seemed to be about how far out you could put a bait. Is it really necessary?
