Pete and Ian have been preparing for months for their SKL (sea kayak leader) assessment. I've been working towards that goal and have thrown myself into every opportunity to be a student for others to see some aspects of the assessment.
A day of "accidental" issues and incidents to allow both Pete and Ian to show their Leadership skills.
Jeff Allen, the Expedition Paddler is an awesome character to journey with. His expertise and demeanour make him a perfect assessor and tutor. I felt honoured to be a student on one of his assessments, getting to be part of some progressive and exciting scenarios to challenge both candidates.
Next step is to get mine done!
