Sea Kayaking Portsoy Harbour, North East Scotland

This is a short film of when I explored the quaint and historic north east Scotland harbour of Portsoy. Sadly I arrived at the bottom of the tide but it was lovely to see the old harbour walls and surrounding buildings.
This harbour would have been jam packed in the 19thC with herring fishing yawls. Now, it's used by a few local lobster fisher folks and leisure craft. It's also the venue for the renowned Portsoy Traditional Boat festival.
I added music to this film because it lacked paddling atmosphere and the wind noise is irritating.

We stayed in Portsoy for a few nights last September and it was fab, such a great place to stay. The Port House Cafe was superb right on the harbour.

Lovely looking place from the Water. I more than Likely have been there as a child. My Father was Stationed at RAF Kinloss twice in the 80s and we explore a lot of Scotland from there. It is quite sad when you think of the livelihoods lost over time. Were once bustling places are now fairly quite or no existent, as they have fallen under a developers Bulldozer.
