That is a better fishing story then just a trophy fish.

I guess his catch earned the seal of approval.

I shared this with my parents who are fishing in Cabo and this is the reply my mother sent: Amy when we went to get Dave's certificate for his Marlin catch & release we found out that the clip you sent was from Cabo from the resident seal, "Pancho" that we met the 1st time we returned to the docks. He just about jumped on the back of the boat while Bob was getting the bait out to feed him. The girl issuing the cert said that "Pancho "has very pricey appetite as he stole a fish right before it was to be weighed in tournament & it cost the guy about $8,000+ as that fish would have won. This sea lion has quite a reputation around the Marina! Lol. We didn't see him on our 2nd trip. His belly must have been full or he was begging off another boat. So I guess we can say Pancho strikes again!

I guess that's Sea Lion tax.

Fun Fact: That fish is the same kind of fish the protagonist from "The Old Man and the Sea" finally caught after his long battle reeling it in...only for it to get eaten by sharks. I guess in this case life imitates literature?

Pelicans work with sea lions, so how it works is pelicans have aerial view and can spot fish, then they go to where the big fish is (that it can't snatch itself) and land right next too it, sea lions see this and come over, grab the loot and have a snack and then leave the carcass + meat scrabs for the pelican to eat, team work 😂 planned robbery successful 👍🏽

He's name is Keke the sea lion he's actually quite famous in Cabo for this vid alone he hopped on my boat this week fishing for marlin and roosterfish
