What a sad video to watch. I still remember the day that Sea Shepherd announced that the Bardot would join the fleet back in 2010! Best wishes to the Brigitte Bardot!
During Operation No Compromise I saw Gojira first time in that season due to some technical failure it was called back in middle of search operation I remember crew were saying that it will take 4-5 days to reach nearest port that was in Australia Nostalgia
I first saw the Bardo and it’s journeys in Antarctica on the series. I appreciate everything that she has done for conservation and I give a massive thanks to the cruise in Captain‘s that served aboard her the entire time.
The Brigitte Bardot no doubt to me looker like something from the future. It was incredible and I enjoyed watching it work saving the whales. It is a shame it is returning but I can understand in this line of work, a boat can only take so much. I do hope it'll be preserved in some way. As always, stay safe out there and continue your amazing work
😢😖...... sadly another great ship of Neptune's Navy has sadly been retired from service of the Sea Shepherd Fleet. Hopefully she (the Brigitte Bardot) will not be scrapped, but will be beside the old Flag Ship Steve Irwin as a museum ship...... The Bob Barker is now the oldest ship in the fleet and will remain in active service to protect the world's Oceans
Fear not! The Brigitte Bardot is not set to be scrapped or set up as a museum ship,. It was sold to a private buyer through Fraser yacht sales. Whomever was the buyer will likely use it for what it was built to do. Travel all over the world.
According to an article awhile back, Sea Shepard was a motivated seller and had put her in the market for $1,499,000.00 the final sale value was not disclosed.
Same here, but I think that at the time that choice of name was made she wasn't yet publicly associated with France's extreme right party "Le Front National" and it's then leader JM Lepen. It would be easy too look up I guess but all in all it doesn't change my support for Sea Shepard, everybody makes mistakes.
@@ottodidakt3069 Actually, it’s the other way round. She was close to the Front National as far back as the 90s. The re-naming of the ship was in 2011 and Sea Shepherd Germany even publicly distanced themselves from Bardots racist views. Today, she doesn’t support the FN anymore, but didn’t really denounce her former xenophobic statements, so a bitter taste remains. Anyway, though I don’t support every single decision, I support Sea Shepherd as a whole 100%.
@@leopoldbloom4835 Thanks, that was something I didn't know. I assumed that the ship's named after famous people must have donated a large amount of money to the group. I'll check it out.
What she has done for animals is amazing. I sent a request to the Bardot Foundation seeking her help to protect Australian wildlife and she wrote numerous letters to our Minister for environment. I found it a pleasure dealing with her Foundation and was most impressed by her dedication to animals in need.
Why does the Brigitte Bardot no longer meets the requirements necessary to participate effectively in upcoming operations? is it due to fuel range? or?
the vessel began its life as a sailing yacht and its single ribbed hull can not survive on the ocean and transporting it on a dockwise vessel to campaigns is expensive. Also you should know this is the vessel that sailed through a hurricane and a rouge wave snapped off its pontoons. Before they kicked Paul out he made the decision to retire this vessel and move away from yachts. Interceptors need to be double ribbed are patrol craft vessels they can not be yachts, fishing boats, or schooners the ocean will rip them to shreds. Also they can not be made of wood, PVC, or fiberglass the waves will damage it and the depths will crush it because of this all interceptors need to be steel reinforced and made of carbon fiber. That's why the Conrad was kept and the Bardot and Alchemy were retired.
They stopped hunting whales in Antarctica and now hunt inside their own territorial waters. But I've heard they are thinking of building a new factory ship so might see them trying to return to Antarctica in the future.
Sea shepherd ,,could do a good job with 10 such ships,,how many naval vessel's do public tax,s support ?? Is this not a public service,,actually more important that than forging war ??
I love you guys and everything you are about, but what is the fucking point when the US just set off a 40000lb nuke in the sea? I feel for you. I feel for the human race. Peace, Love, UNITY.
Will the TV show return? I miss watching you guys screw up and fail every week. Lol Did the authorities ever catch who ever shot Paul in the fake badge?
