Hi, yeah they are a great bit of kit. I’ve had mine a couple of years now and it’s definitely a tough water bladder. My mate loves the shower adapter and used it extensively on our Sweden tour this year. Thanks for comment.👍🏼
This was really well done Mr.Green 👏🏻 and I have to say, the shower part made me extra interested. This is a great feature to have, I HATE washing myself in cold water 🤣 Great tip and I have to take a closer look at this one.
You know the score Thomas anyone can be uncomfortable outdoors (cold showers are a thing of the past)😬.I stumbled on this bit of kit by accident and thought it might be worth a go and also worth sharing with the motorcycle community, not to expensive either. Anything that can do multiple things gets a thumbs up from me. Take care bro.
@@tshansen I like it a lot. I think it's better than the bottleshower or the simple shower because it can collapse when you don't need it. But if no stove, how you heat the water ? Just leaving in to the sun while riding?
I bought one of these after watching this. Although I bought the wrong one first that didn't have the shower bit. Thought it was cheap. Sent it back. Bought the right one. Can't wait to use it. Thanks for the review on this. 👍
To be honest we both had one of these on our Norway trip and they were pretty invaluable. I found I needed about 3 ltrs per day for brews /cooking. I was too much of a pussy to use the shower adapter. Mind you I imagine Wookie would love it as he seems to throw himself in every avaliable water source😂. Take care mate, keep this vids coming. 👍🏻
@@GreenString we loved your Norway series. Wookiee's favourite bit I think was when your mate said "I'm loosing the will to live" as he was putting his tent pegs in. Wookiee often says about that bit. I'm looking forward to using mine. I'm not surprised you didn't use the shower on that trip though. A bit Nippy. Yea Wookiee would be under it in any weather I expect. Looking forward to more of your videos. 👍
Even if you have a water source having a way of containing purified or boiled water is good that way you don't need to constantly start a fire everytime you need a drink.
Hi Steve just a comment to say hi, hope you are well and planning something. The vaccine plan is going as well here in France as it is in Germany. Stay well and don't get teh greenstring tangled.
Ha Ha, I remember thinking last year that all would be good in 2021...I think I will be postponing the Nordkapp again this year. This years big tour could end up being a ride round the block (again).
Hi, cool review! After one year of use (i presume) no leaks, no nasty taste, no "smell" after storage (meaning when not in use), no mold, etc.? I'm considering this "watercell x" or the "Desert Fox" (for water or fuel) bladder. Your info will be much appreciated. Cheers mate.
Hi, thanks for your comment and I’m always happy to provide a bit of honest feedback. So since I made that video I have completed a number of 1 nighters (mostly overnighting in campsites) and more importantly 2 major trips. We crossed the Arctic circle to the North Cape in Norway and this summer we rode the trans euro trail in Sweden. In both the recent trips we wild camped. That’s important to know because the WaterCell X was essential. We filled it on the road (usually petrol stations) knowing that it would be our only definite safe drinking / eating water once we made camp. So they were transported full and placed under more stress during cross country riding. My mate straps his on his bike, I slide it in a 6 ltr pouch. My mate even used the shower function in the field. I can report they are VERY tough. No leaks and certainly no strange tastes transferred to the water. Once I get home I simply empty, leave the lid off and let it dry. I did clean the bladder once with a special tablet prior to our Sweden Trip. I know personally a couple of other people who have this and they are very happy. So would I recommend it? Obviously, Yes. That said I have no experience with Desert Fox bladder. I hope this helps mate. If you have any other questions please fire away. All the best Team Green String.👍🏼
Hi Ethan, in short no that has not happened so far so I cannot comment on that. I am still using them regularly and the bladder is holding up fine. Hope this helps. 👍🏻
Really good question Luke. I don't like the taste from Camelbaks but I have not noted any unusual taste from the watercell. I've even drank direct from the bladder.
Yeah, that was one of the reasons I got it. I heard somewhere (but cannot confirm) that you can get a drinking straw adapter for it as well so it also converts into a Camelbak type water drinking bladder, such a great versatile bit of kit. Thanks for the comment, stay safe.
@@GreenString yeah right that does sound awesome ....I'm thinking don't buy a plastic hydration bladder just get one of these for overnight hikes and take a small water bottle from camping shop not a plastic one from a corner shop ? Just returned the black wild hydration bladder the taste got me off !
@@GreenString oh by the way I hate the triangle.looking one by sea to summit because it has a cheap 10 dollar wine bag in it this one doesn't have that does it ....thanks.mate be safe too
