SEA CLIFF BRIDGE, New South Wales, Australia, was opened in 2005. In 2003 there was nothing but a closed Lawrence Hargrave Drive because of rock falls and land slides and land slips..
With previously unseen photos of the community protest march to demand the road to be opened to other photos of the area before the bridge was built, to the bridge being built and a walk along it the day before it was opened, this film attempts to bring an historical aspect to one person's view of the bridge.

Another great film Alan. I remember as a teenager (in the 80's) driving on the "old road" on Sunday drives to Wollongong.

+Thomas Gregory Thanks Thomas, even though I knew, I'm beginning to realise even more how important everything we film or photograph is history for future generations.

Alan, we both know why they did not go with your design. Yours, as awesome as it was, would have probably cost 10 times what the current new one did. Putting pilings into the water, the extra distance/spans etc. My second theory is, they just didn't want to be told what to do LOL Great video. Much respect from the U.S.A

You're probably pretty right...the local Member of NSW Parliament at the time told me they saved 49 Million bucks by not building the northern section of the bridge!! Yet they spent a few million on shoring that northern road section up when it started to slid into the ocean!! And rocks still come down there too!! More foreskin than foresight!! I have a film on that too!
