I could see Barry's eyes glaze over when Stuart and John were talking about Doctor Who. I agree with John it doesn't matter if The Doctor is male or female, the best actor for the role should get the part. I grew up watching Jon Pertwee's Doctor, so he is my favourite :D

On the topic of manky computers, I worked in IT for 10 years and my god have I seen some manky ones. I once visited an old couple, the man smoked a pipe and the woman kept dogs. I took the side panel off and every fan was clogged up with tar covered dog hairs, it was so bad I ignored it and didn't say anything because there was no chance I was cleaning that out. I've actually killed a computer by blowing it out, my assumption is there was so much dust inside that me blowing it out created static that fried something.

This brings back a traumatic memory of standing on the waterfront at Dartmouth, eating a crab sandwich. A gigantic seagull landed at my feet and gazed up at me plaintively, until I told it to bugger off, which it did. A few seconds later I was struck hard on the back on the head. I dropped the sandwich, which was immediately snatched up by the gull, who had dive-bombed me from behind. In the bird's defence it did ask politely first, before resorting to assault and robbery. You get a better class of seagull in Dartmouth.
@Aevilbeast

That sounds horrible...I've heard horror stories about them before and how they can be extremely aggressive, but that sounds like a scene straight out "The Birds" movie! I've also heard Swans can be very aggressive, although for different reasons, more about being very territorial and/or protective of their nests or young than over food. My aunt actually got bit and chased around a pond by Swan when she was a kid.
@brianartillery

It's slightly worrying to me that Barry seems to know the correct way to dispatch gulls. Which are bastards, as everyone should know. I do know someone who once killed, cooked, and ate, a gull, whilst sea fishing. He said it was disgusting, and virtually inedible. It's worth noting, that several of the missing Doctor Who stories have been made as superb animated versions by the BBC. Classics like 'The Ice Warriors' 'The Power Of The Daleks', and 'The Moonbase'. The animation is matched to the soundtrack perfectly. Yet again, a top guest, and one who loves Doctor Who, too. Nice one.
@mariuskane
@mariuskane 5 лет назад
And the Macra Terror which has just come out - it's great to see these episodes finally properly. Oh and Tenth Planet part four which was one of the first animations I saw, and was blown away by seeing basically a "new" William Hartnell episode at the time...
@brianartillery
@brianartillery 5 лет назад
@@mariuskane - Thanks for the reply. I get very cross thinking of the BBC trashing their back catalogue, not just of Doctor Who, but everything. The first animated Who were two episodes of the 1968 story 'The Invasion'. Annoyingly, though, the two missing episodes don't (apart from a few seconds) contain any Cybermen - but they are beautifully done. And it's a great story, introducing U.N.I.T., and featuring the referenced-in-the-new-series 'International Electromatics', and it's boss, Tobias Vaughn, possibly one of the greatest evil geniuses in Doctor Who. Ever. EVER.

Pigeons eat mostly seeds, with the occasional insect, and (in cities) left-over human food (mostly grains and grain derivatives, like bread). Being feral means they get to choose what they eat, unlike farm animals, which are essentially force-fed some very weird things indeed (though even farm-reared pigeons are often left to find their own food). If you knew what the average pig eats, you'd be doing a full course of feral pigeon for detox.
