There is nothing sweeter than the first taste of home sweet home for our rehabilitated seal pup MИP (pronounced 'Myr', meaning 'peace' in Ukrainian)! After doubling his body weight, receiving antibiotics for an infection, and fluids for dehydration since his rescue in mid-February, MИP was ready to bid Mystic Aquarium's Animal Rescue Program farewell and return to the ocean. After a successful rehabilitation, MИP's release felt more like graduation than a goodbye... so swim on, MИP, and enjoy the ocean blue, stronger than you were before!
