In this video I break down scenes from different episodes of SEAL Team CBS. This TV show is produced by former Team guys and have former SEALs that work with the actors.
Disclaimer: In Hollywood there are things that must happen to appeal to the eye and then there are real world tactics. It it extremely hard to be 100% tactical in a movie and it remain enticing to the human brain.
There is no way I have the ability to understand everything happening on scene, or in the directors mind, therefore I do the best I can with consideration to my experience and time as a SEAL, the tactics taught now to SEAL Teams, and what I teach in my training. There is a baseline of tactics and then we adapt on the fly.
Overall the show appears to be really legit and I cannot wait to sit down with Season 1!
Have a great day and God bless,
Jason Pike

Watching this and remembered one time, when I was drunk as hell in Berlin, I met some Canadian SF/SO guy and his wife. We drank for the next 4-6 hours and then on our way back to our rooms (which were near each other) we “cleared” the stairs and hallway lmaoooo. Will be something I always remember.

One of my favorite things about the first season was the first half of each episode they would train for each scenario usually multiple times and each time if someone screwed up they would do it over again untill they had it down.

On top of Tyler Grey, Mark Semos, one of the writers, was a SEAL and Mark Owen, DevGru SEAL from the UBL raid, is a producer. All in all, the show has something like 100 vets working on it, whether it be writing, backup characters, sound, film, or lighting. Easily one of the best military shows out there, in terms of supporting veterans. I'm hoping with their move to streaming that the show gets more gritty and realistic, but if it stays the same, I'd still love it.

This show gets very powerful in the last season. They touch on some highly charged issues in the community(TBI/CTE, relationships) and really just knocked it out of the park. To me this show is advocacy packaged in entertainment and it was much needed as well as greatly executed.

Great to read this post as one completely green person but lots of interest in real SEAL s etc, Have thought a lot abt how good it maybe that true stuff is brought up in the series kind of where it gets sort of allowed with no casualties; no one gets hit by taking on a sensitive subject, as might be in the real deal so it becomes harder to let out! I have Bingedwatched the series All seasons all episodes and I am amazed how great production it is, photo, scripta, each personality in each is soo well kept and so natural as if they were these persons irl! I never get the feel of glitches or faults in subjects or happenings that are focused on and ALWAYS comes back and that it always is completed never loose ends. Watertight! And you really get the small but important subtle emotion changes that e g is experienced are by the actors made sooo well that one feels every change!! It is always dangerous to put a series common scenes like all the team meetings before a task is easily to get rediculed But somehow is Every team meeting as interesting as the first so never gets repetitive in feel! Well I can go on forever but have to sleep now! Great thing to do this kind of vlogs by real SEALS w great explanations and brake downs of scenes! Love This Serie🙏🏼🤩❤️🌟👍🏼😍

Tyler Grey, who plays Trent, is former Army Special Forces, who was wounded in combat early on in the war. You can see his injury still on one of his arms if you look closely. K9 handler Justin Melnick, Brock, is also Ex Military (I believe) and is currently a K9 cop in Indiana. And Scott Fox, who played Full Metal until the S4 finale, is Retired as a Senior Chief SWO, with 2 Bronze Stars for Valor, the Navy Cross, and a Purple Heart.. just to let everyone know that the inaccuracies should specifically be blamed on Hollywood.

I remember a friend told me to watch this show. I said “no way- I’ll be too bothered by the chuck Norris TV tactics. But I was surprised by the work the actors and their trainers put into the tactical movement. The guys move from cover, they stack up right, their load out looks legit. There’s the occasional big oops- like opening the door of a pressurized aircraft cabin without everyone getting sucked out of the door. But it’s pretty good effort- kudos to Tyler and the other former operators for getting the boys to try to get it right

It really IS a good show, and yeah there ARE aspects that AREN'T considered "proper" in a TRUE tactical sense, but that's when you have to switch your mind over to "This is a TV show and some of this is done for the story." Or they're doing it as part of getting the actors into the shot for the scene establishing the story and likely who it will surround for that episode which is USUALLY one of the four main actors David Boreanaz, Neal Brown Jr. , AJ Buckley, and Max Theriot, or sometimes Toni Trucks who plays Davis. But ALSO some of the other actors who WERE former operators like Tyler Grey who was a Ranger before his medical discharge, he's also a producer for the show. Or Justin Melnick who was hired to work with Dita and Pepper (their new dog) and general consultant but due to his LE background, he was asked to become a recurring character on the show Just like any other military based movie or TV Show. I think it gives a good representation overall, but it also humanizes and GROUNDS the idea that ALL our Military personnel are, at the end of the day regular people with personal issues problems, but with special operations in particular, they are extraordinarily trained individuals and groups but still face everyday life issues whenever they're home or something significant occurs like the loss of a family member or teammate.

"How we can fine tune things to become better operators in our own personal lives." I love that sentence of yours, but definitionally, there is nothing that's going to help me here, because I'm a Dadperator, & we don't have even a loosely defined set of operational procedures. 'But what about when bad guys break into your house...' even then. Dadperators rely on instincts honed over many millennia. Are the bad guys going down in that scenario? Yes, every time, because my family is in the home. 'OK, got it, but what techniques are you employing....' No, no techniques, just pure saving the day with whichever gun, bat, knife, or bare hand I can best get to, mixed with a Dad-bod coursing with gallons of go-juice, & a dash of controlled fury = day saved, every time. But don't break in when I'm not there, & don't break in super early, I've got a bad back & it takes a while to warm up in the morning.

One thing I reacted on as a former Swedish arctic Ranger. In the snow scene, they’re wearing snow camouflage jackets and ordinary camouflage pants. They should’ve done it the other way around. When standing and walking in prone position, the silhouettes are clearly visible against the green pines in the surroundings. Green trees with snow on the ground = winter camo pants and regular camo on top.

@frogmantactical
@frogmantactical 2 года назад
Yes and no. In rare cases. Are you moving faster than the enemies eye can process? If so there is no need to change hands. If you are moving slow methodical, trying to focus on concealment, then you might, however most people can shoot well or fast with their weak hand so it’s not a bonus in many cases. The cast had been trained by real Navy Seals. One of the producer served giving his input on certain matter.... From the start, this show has looked to former operators for their real-life experience to make the show as authentic as possible. Not only does the series have former Navy SEALs, like Mark Semos and Kenny Sheard in the writer's room, but over 70% of its crew are veterans, and almost the entire stunt team are former special operators. Tyler Gray who an producer and actor in the series is a former Delta Force operator. Plus everything they are using is real prop and not fake.

I guess that these two sentences perfectly describes what you are doing on this channel. 150% content in each word while simple and interesting. I bet that if you would do a video about outdoor peeing, you would raise pissing against the wind topic to a rocket science level and break it down in a way that even 5 year old kid would understood. The reason I enjoy watching your channel and movie breakdowns is I think you may be one of the only military channels that can accept the simple reality that "hey they did the best they could but they're filming a movie they have to glamorize or do certain things." His "nitpicking" is pretty cool. I dig it. Are you kidding me? That allowed SEALs to use Blue force trackers and Falcon?!?! I was regular Army and we used those. Surely you guys have a lot more high speed stuff I bet u can’t reveal :) thanks for clarifying the high ans low ready. Makes a lot of sense in certain situation especially CQC.

Thank you for a very informative video. This has been my favorite show about SEALs and it is nice to hear from somebody, who does this for real, how accurate the show is for hollywood. I didn't mind your nitpicking. This is what you do, obviously you are going to see things the general public does not. I think you did a great job. It was interesting to see what things they did were not good, or desirable, but also to hear why. I didn't feel at all like you were cutting them down. Most likely they felt certain things didn't need the accuracy as, like you said, the average person wouldn't know it was not correct. I always enjoy shows about our special forces. It takes a certain type of person to do those missions and I have great respect for them. Thank you for your service Sir.

Mr Pike (sorry, never caught your rank), curious on you opinions on two Israeli techniques I learned doing CT training over there 15+ years ago. First is something you touched on @22:32. We were taught rather than transition to a left handed shooting position when shooting a left-handed corner to hold the rifle normally and shoulder the weapon to the opposite (left) shoulder. It's awkward and takes a good bit of practice to get used to but it allows at least 2 of the 4 natural points of contact to be used and is a LOT quicker to transition to. Also, with bullpups like the Tavor (which was just being issued back then), it positions the rifle just enough more forward to avoid eating brass (at least for my 6'3" ass). Works really great for AR's; which is my primary HDR. The second is the room entry/advancement you pointed out @21:12. We were taught to approach along the walls like they did but clear up to the door... once at the door, use walls for cover and clear visible ranges of the pie. Then, both lead operators enter simultaneously and turn to the inside corners (or one immediately after the other for narrow doorways). This is followed by operators 3 & 4 going up to the doorway to cover back in the room, hallway or beyond (and to respond to a threat on the respected sides should the lead man go down). Many years and a couple spinal disks ago, I taught this to an airsoft group I did some recreational training with and later, a PMC team in actual application to great effectiveness. It seemed a lot faster and safer (less crossing muzzles) than what I was trained to do in the Army and what this scene shows. Curious if you have seen this and what your opinions are on its employment in CQB. Oh, if I don't reply to your reply, it means Mossad got me for giving away some trade secrets and well, if that happens, I'll will ya a 250 box of some home-brewed Lehigh XP 9mm +P.. ;)

Falcon View and BFT we use from 03-09 threw three rotations. Using Raven UAV was another help while living with the sand people. Regarding lag time, we would also use local assets with NV/IR to talk friendless onto roving targets. Unless it was priority, we would borrow from what was available, and at times we had to make due before we hit bingo.
