@@stylishraptor5768 yeah, getting summoned into a godhome arena right in the middle of a good video SUUUUCKS, like then I gotta either get killed again or get all messy killing the knight and then I have to go clean up before I can keep watching my video, it’s just a whole ordeal honestly
It was such a very tragic fight and the music really locked it all in. My father was in the room over while my daughter and I were doing this fight and he perked up as the night went on nothing how heavy it all sounded.
I strongly believe that the ascending line with the violin should have been a solo, it's suppose to sound depressing and most importantly lonely, but otherwise I really liked it too
@@alexA.7529 yeah, having the main melody at that part be in unison takes away the loneliness part of the music, but the melancholy is still conveyed well thanks to the amazing players and Christopher's beautiful composition. Such great talent!
The music is perfectly crafted in the game, This fight, specifically the last half, the main boss (The hollow knight) starts to kill himself as he tries to stop the radiance/infection (bad virus making everyone murderous) from killing you and everything else while the infection is taking over. This can be compared to the mantis lords fight ost (search up "game composer hears mantis lords for the first time" for a very detailed review, he also made one for sealed vessel.
Impresionante, hollow knight obra maestra tanto por su historia, gráficos, COMO (asi no me defenestran) por su banda sonora. Hermosa composición orquestal
Both? I think you mean it is a masterpiece for all of those things, not for both its story, graphics, and soundtrack, cause that is three things. I'm not trying to be mean or condescending when I say this, just trying to be helpful with Grammer. However if that was just a word that got added in translation then take everything else I typed and throw it out the window. Have a good day.
@@morphalta2074 "tanto" in English does not necessarily mean "both", depending on the translation and the context that occurs in the sentence it can be used as "both", or "as much for/as", so tecnically in spanish its well written. Just to clarify.

Excellent! You did a great job of capturing the feeling and strength of the original! This is the best performance I've heard outside of the game itself!
@@fireking0531 You are a beast lmao I think Hollow Knight must be played at least once a year. If you like this type I recommend you “Aeterna Noctis”, music never can’t be same or better but it’s a good game.
well, they have to play perfectly or start over again. so technically it could be anyone who is good enough. its the person who created the different parts to the different instruments. the players just follow instructions.
@@EdwardBraunsIII honestly, you’re right, and it’s completely understandable. all individuals did well, however you can see that they probably have practiced a heck ton. everyone has their own extraordinary roles here. all I was saying is how well the orchestra was laid out and how they did well in, for example, toning. I wasn’t excluding anyone or anything.
@@nakomaxrlys also when you read others post try to imagine them saying it nicely. I have this way of trying to say my point but for some reason people thing i'm being rude or something.
I kinda feel disappointed by the lack of drums. It makes the "stab" effect of the first part absent. And it is what exactly gives most of the strength of it. But still, it's a performance deserving us to notice.
I believe the “stab” effect you’re describing is called a pianoforte, and I entirely agree. I’ve always wanted to try an arrangement with a mixed ensemble or orchestra but alas, I don’t have any near me
Awesome! Was this a custom transcription, or did it come from Larkin himself? I've just started working on some of my own arrangements for Hollow Knight music. It's such a wonderful soundtrack! I was about to say "now the Hornet fight" but now looking at your channel I see that's your channel trailer!
One of the orchestra members is a Hollow Knight fan and makes the arrangements. It's an all-string orchestra, all the kids are in grade school or high school.
It’s awesome to see this song performed at a concert. Shame there’s no drums though. Really doesn’t hit as hard as it should. Still, this is a step in the right direction.
this feels so different to what we hear in game. The build up is SO GOOD I absolutely love this. It somehow feels so much more tragic and sad than what we get in game which is so impressive and I really love that for the orchestra setting !!! Keep up the amazing work EDIT: THE ENDING HOLY. all those deep tones PUAHHH SO GOOD !!
Absolutely wonderful!!!!! I think If I had arranged it, I would've made the ending part at 4:45 keep the high pedal tone, but play the melody in pizzicato. This is probably one of my favorite renditions of this piece, and Larkin should be proud to have such a talented group performing it.
This makes me excited to see what Christopher Larkin will compose for Silksong, since now he isn't performing the tracks himself, he can focus 100% of his energy to composition of *masterpieces*
This is an excellent orchestration, but I think it needs piano and maybe some other percussive sounds. It’s lacking the hard hits for phase 1 and for the last bit (dream no more ending cutscene music), piano is a critical instrument. That being said, for playing without the hard hits, this is a very excellent production- great work!
BEAUTIFULLY PLAYED! Great job, yall are making me wanna pick violin back up again, wasnt able to get my bow restrung and unfortunately haven't touched it since. Keep playing cus yall leave me wanting more!
I’ve always wondered how and why professional orchestras come across songs from video games and play them. Do they get recommended them? Does the director actually know the song? Do they even know they’re from video games?
