Good video and camera work. Nice that the upside down forks will allow oil to wash the contaminates down the tube and out of the fork leg. One suggestion would be to re-seat the fork seal before you slide the dust seal back in place. Oil will weep out during the re-seating process and get trapped under the dust seal and attract more dirt. After the re-seat shows no oil coming out of the fork seal, clean the tube, inside of the dust seal, then re-seat the dust seal.
I saw Mark Victor uses this in bikerbits some years ago.. Works brilliant. Used a homemade one on a mv agusta and its not leaking yet. Have a nice weekend mate🍻🍻
Yeah I remember that vid, he’s fork was off the bike if I remember correctly, that’s a good point actually, you can make a homemade one out off plastic milk cartons.
A bit more involving but ideally on upside down forks the process should be done with the forks out and the other way up. Your fork oil looks contaminated with water.
Yeah possibly, and most adventure bikes have some kind of protection on the forks, like mine, they really do take the brunt off the crud, those and downpipes.
Cheers Allun, yeah anything my bike needs doing im gonna drop it round to them. I was in there yesterday actually, my daughter wanted to look at the bikes! 😂
but y not leave it alone, not sure if this is worth it, ? is it a bandaid if u hav damaged forks alrady, or is it proven to keep ur forks alive and going? not just interested to clean them like that, when i hav 2replace them soon? thanks
