Everyone's hair is different. Some say coconut, olive, jojoba, grapeseed etc. You have to experiment and see what works for you

Yes, if you don't mind having a thousand bobbi pins in your hair (which I don't prefer. This way is also more seamless and transparent than just wrapping hair around your ponytail. However, each are options for you to enjoy!
