Shoutout to MTV for highlighting Sean! Sean Bankhead is a modern day dance LEGEND. He deserves a lot more awards and recognition for what he does. He has been responsible for so many iconic music videos, performances and MOMENTS in pop culture. I hope Sean and I work together on something one day, that would be dope.

I started watching Sean Bankhead choreography yeeaars ago when he was at the Dance 411 studio. It’s so inspiring to see him rise! I love how nontraditional he and how no linear his path has been. Not everyone trained at prestigious dance studios or have been formally trained for years, but he shows through his lived experience that if you’re committed, passionate, and willing to learn you can be successful. Also, this host/interviewer was phenomenal. He asked all of the RIGHT questions! 🙌🏾 The flow of this conversation was great and this overall production was well done and straight to the point! 👏🏾👏🏾

My favorite thing about his choreo is that it tells a story, he’s not just mixing all of the trendy dance moves , each movement flows. I’m the same I can dance freestyle but, choreo I forget by the time they start the 8 count.*

I remember seeing Sean on tv for the first time when he used to co-choreograph with Laureanne Gibson on MTV’s The Band. He was her right-hand man. I thought he’d mention that in this video especially since that was in the years leading up to Single Ladies.

This was an amazing interview. I’ve been paying attention to Sean Bankhead since he was choreographing for “The OMG Girlz” and “Fifth Harmony”. It was interesting to hear how he got started.
