People don't realize with the Dr. Arroyo character it's awesome people like him so much, his name is Jose Arroyo he was a writer for Conan, him and several others did characters like this for decades (Brian Stack, Brian McCann, Andres du Bouchet, Jon Glaser (Jeremy Jamm from parks and rec), Amy Poehler), this is just what Conan and his writers have done since 1993 I hope people will check out more of him

It causes a certain irony when he appears on other shows, and it's clear those interviewers know him nowhere near as well as he's known his own past guests and their bodies of work. I get that they have too many guests for that to be feasible, but the difference is stark. Hot Ones is the only celebrity interview show I've ever found interesting, because you actually get to see the real people underlying the facades. (Maybe not in Conan's case - I think he's always fully himself...)

This interview just helped me realize that Sean Evans has started to change the game for mainstream media interviewing as a whole. Hoda asked him about his first job as a tour guide years ago. That’s the exact type of question that Sean asks people:) All these interviewers are seeing the value of deep, thoughtful, well researched questions from hot ones and are taking notes. It’s a beautiful thing for the industry to honor the guest and it increases the viewership experience. Years ago Tori Kelly was interviewed on Sway in the morning. One of the hosts started commenting about her music and then said “I’ve only listened to two songs”. Kelly made a nice, gentle zinger back to him about listening more to her music before making a judgment call. Sean Evan’s probably spends 40 hours researching and crafting questions for a single guest. I do think 10 years from now the average mainstream interviewer will have at least moderately improved questions based on Sean’s influence!!

I love watching Hot Ones from First we feast hosted by Sean Evans. He's such a great interviewer. It's so entertaining!

The thing I've noticed with Hot ones interviews.. The real person comes out. Soo many famous people that I really wasn't that fond of.. They go on hot ones, and they're some of the most down to earth genuine people that I end up having a huge amount of respect for. And then there's the flipside to that. Quite a few famous people that are household names, they go on hot ones, and my opinion of them by the end of the interview is that of "wow, you're actually a real PoS in real life".

Low key, the Chicago architecture tour is amazing. It’s a bit pricey, but well worth the money.

I love Hot Ones. What I love most is when the guests are authentic. I don't really like it when the "put on a show." I love it when the guests are their real selves.

@@sarahvangorden7551 Guys surprisingly he kinda is always like that. I've watched and listened to his podcast. He talks about how he can't "turn it off" and it's a common complaint among his friends and his wife. Yes the Dr. Arroyo bit was fake (it was still unscripted), but other than the "doctor", Conan is really like that pretty much 100% of the time. He's insanely hilarious, but sometimes listening to him too much is literally infuriating for me because he can't turn off the comedy. He's just like that. He can have more sincere moments with his normal friends and celebrity friends, but he always closes a point with a joke. His podcast co-hosts always point it out to him that he just couldn't leave the sincerity of the moment alone.

@@AWren-mh2zx if you listen to the interview portions of his podcast (the main part), he can get quite serious when talking with guests. He does throw in a one-liner here and there, but he really has some excellent discussions. He’s a fantastic interviewer.

Sean Evans and Rick Beato are two of my favorite interviewers. Both are genuine, ask great questions, rarely interrupt and go with the flow of each conversation

I'm glad he inspired the interviewers to do a little more research on him for the question. I know celebrities get so tired of hearing the same simple lack of effort questions over and over.

They like to talk over the guest while they answer, Sean doesn't do that. They could learn something from him.

I love that “Today” tries to tell us what “Hot Ones” is, as if “Hot Ones” isn’t 98% more recognizable and relevant to all audiences than “Today” at this point.

The “Today” audience would not be familiar with “Hot Ones.” Not the same medium and demographic. Hence why it would be worth Sean Evan’s time to do.

One of the best shows on the internet, hands down. Great format, great concept - fantastic host. The season finale featuring Conan was epic, though. At the beginning of the year I thought "Wow, John Oliver! Now I can drop dead - what's gonna come next, huh?!?" And then Conan happened... Hope Team Coco will have Sean on the podcast, too.
