Actor Sean Pertwee joins AOL Build to talk about the hit Fox series, “Gotham,” in which he plays Alfred Pennyworth, guardian and best friend of Bruce Wayne. “Gotham” tells the origin stories of several characters from the “Batman” franchise including James Gordon, Bruce Wayne, Joker, Two-Face and Catwoman. I've loved watching Sean Pertwee for years in various things, but this role has become my highlight. He is now Alfred in my head canon...

Michael Caine was fantastic as Alfred in The Dark Knight trilogy but Gotham definitely gave us the best Alfred Pennyworth ever! A younger Alfred but so badass!

One of my favourite actors, i loved his role as the sarge in dog soldiers, am a grear fan of his dad jon too especially as worzel gummidge.

He is one of my favorite character in the show,love his British accent, he is proper and regal and a bad ass at the same time. He protects his master,and keeps him in line like a father. Its a great show never miss a episode😊❤

I'm just watching season 4 of Gotham and I'm becoming a huge fan of Sean. I would absolutely love to see him in the role of James Bond one day. I think that he brings everything to the table that one would want to see in this role from an Ian Flemming-inspired point of view.

As good as Michael Gough was in the Tim Burton movies, and Michael Caine was in the Nolan flicks, Sean’s always gonna be my definitive Alfred. He’s more developed on the show and they managed to take the epitome of the vaguely stuck-up, man-servant and make him a more cockney, streetwise, rough and tumble character, I just like that. It makes me wish he would one day be the Doctor (on Doctor Who), not only because his dad, Jon Pertwee, was the third Doctor in the seventies, but also just that I would love his Alfred in that role.

Ah well folks, Nobody will ever be Alfred for me like Michael Caine, but let me offer a new perspective: There's no this Alfred is best or that Alfred is best- Sean's Alfred is when Bruce was Younger Michael's Alfred is when Bruce is grown up into a full fledged man.

Not really. I can’t really see Sean’s Alfred turn into Michael’s Alfred, because they have completely different personalities, similar to the two jokers Heath and Joaquin
