Jiu Jitsu only works if you can get a proper submission hold in less than 3 seconds. Anything beyond that the slightest bit of resistance and the submission isn't happening.

He hit him with the double reverse trap card. Made him think he was doing reverse psychology and that he was gonna come in and grapple. But really he spent the entire training camp boxing and striking.

He battered him on his feet. He did exactly what he said he would do and that BJJ was useless and didn't work. After Usman he decided to focus on WRESTLING.

Bits and pieces of it work in combination with striking. Pure Jujitsu against a well rounded striker and grappler definitely does not work. What a lot of people forget is you can actually get out of having to grapple with someone just by standing up a lot of time which can be hard to do in a grappling contest but extremely easy to do if you can punch someone.

BJJ is best with Judo and Wrestling especially. I’m a Blue belt working towards my Purple but I am also starting Judo to learn take downs. Most guys never ever work take downs beyond the basics taught in BJJ class.

I don't like a lot of judo takedown though personally. Too many of them expose the back and too many of them are overly complex.There's a reason UFC fighters rarely use them. I think wrestling takedowns are far more easy and reliable. Obviously you do see them pulled off sometimes though. Harai Goshi was pulled off by Nate Diaz in a fight. Just my preference though. I'm not good at Judo at all so obviously I would say that.@@bobbydabutcha

@@mikeylitchfield4651 With self defense in mind, many arts have things that are best left to the art lol. BJJ isn’t perfect either, I’d have to say the majority of open and half guards along with any and all elaborate guard retention and guard passing is not necessary for self defense. But as they say, the more you know the less you actually use and the easier it is for you to adapt, it’s only through thousands of hours that you begin to develop the instinct of when to do what. The same way Khabib is able to handle everyone he grapples with ease and use very basic take downs despite being a Sambo and Judo champion. It’s crazy how he’s only a BJJ white belt lol

Oh yeah I agree. There's so much BJJ stuff that is only useful for grappling sports and would get you destroyed in an MMA competition. In fact when I roll with people there's a lot of stuff I can shut down just with some simple wrestling groundwork. I know a guy from my gym who does BJJ Wrestling and Judo and it's nearly always the simple gruntish stuff he wins rolls with. @@bobbydabutcha

I would like to see Sean mix it up more in the cage I’ve seen him in the gym he has really good grappling over all good wrestling and jiu-jitsu also his kicks are good his strong point is boxing and that’s what he sticks to and i understand that but i think it would be a lot more entertaining to watch

He’s right it doesn’t works. It works between two guys in a gym or octagon…but in a street fight you get your fck ass kicked. You can’t fight against two guys with Bjj not at all…you get kicked in the face or you get a bottle in your face. In the streets i prefer boxing …you have to stay on your feets..or you get badly hurt.

You can’t even spell and you’re saying Jiu jitsu doesn’t work, it’s been proven it works in mma and in the streets, go to a jiu jitsu gym and challenge a higher belt to a fight, then come back and tell us how many times you got subbed in 5 minutes
