Thanks a lot everyone for your sweet comments, For some people somehow I don't know why, they do face some problems with adding Search Queries, so I will be making another video with an alternative way of making a Search Button that will be working for all of you :)
Hi Bassel, you didn't answer Izz Suhili's problem yet because I had the same problem too. Now I wonder, Is it because we use the express edition of visual studio 2010 or what? because the result we get is totally different from yours. no button, no textbox, just a label on the left side for the item we want to search. Please assist!!
Question, i noticed you used the string LIKE What if i wanted the output to display characters that did NOT have the letter "n" for example. what string would i use?
That was a great help, but what about if you want have only the second name? Can I make it work with firts and lastname, like it would search in both cells.
What should I enter in the filter field if I want search for a set of data based on a condition...Like, to search for set of data which is less than or more than the entered value
hi man !!! this video is very cool !!! thank you !!! I will start my post-graduation and I have not been programming for the past 10 years and I can see that is much more powerfull that before !!!
I have a problem :) I did add the "%" part but when i search he only finds something when I searched for the whole name except for the last letter. Do you know what's the problem?
can you help me? When the toolstrip was generated, only a label was generated and no textbox and another label which you named search was generated. Now, the coding on statement Me."the name of the adapter", I cannot add a textbox.text in the bracket...
hi. sorry i just want to ask why my toolstrip button don't show the textbox? when i want to add it into the code, its write like this "too many argument ........."
If anyone is getting a problem with this method, please check our new alternative method video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Z4GK7yxPOko.html
Did you place the % sign correctly? Kindly check the TableBindingSource line that you wrote against the source code of this project (follow the link in the video's description). +ellamae _22 I currently don't have a tutorial for this, but I am looking forward to making tutorials on ERD, schema and implementation for a full database system, so I will take your request into consideration. Thanks!

GUYS IF YOU'RE NOT GETTING A TEXT BOX, TRY WRITING "FIELDNAME" LIKE ? + '%', THE FIELDNAME BEING WHAT FIELD YOURE SEARCHING. E.G. LASTNAME LIKE ? + '%' I HAD THE PROBLEM WHERE I DIDN'T HAVE THE TEXTBOX BUT THIS SOLVED THAT, THE REASON WHY THE METHOD IN THIS VIDEO DIDNT WORK FOR ME WAS BECAUSE WHEN I CLICKED OKAY AND CAME ON TO THE QUERY BUILDER PAGE AFTER ENTERING WHAT HE SAYS TO ENTER, IT CAME UP WITH EXTRA ' ON BOTH SIDES. IF THAT IS WHAT'S HAPPENING TO YOU TRY THIS! SORRY FOR CAPS XD
