Hi Gary, It was me that sent you the map from your visit back in 2020 so glad you found the sink hole this beach is local To me and it’s stunning your images are beautiful, You need the autumn/winter seas on an incoming tide to make the most of the location but the tides can be higher so you need to take care give me a shout if you come back up this way, great video 👍
Hi Gary, I sadly was one of the thousand odd people who missed the leave a reply element of the competition rules. I presume the others did likewise. Our stupidity 😂. Really enjoyable video as always, thanks.
Great video. Regards the contest you pointed out that you received many more emails than comments. This is because your verbal instructions specifically said send only your name in an email, no begging. no pleading, etc. No mention of adding a comment to the video which was only shown in text in the upper left corner of the video. Keep up the good work.
"ordinary images" man I have to get out more ! fantastic location ! another 1 for the bucket list when I win the lotto or retire 😀 its very hard to choose if I like the colour or monochrome images more ! Best of luck to that chap with the tripod !!
Another awesome video Gary, love the location, back in the film days I visited Tantallon quite a few times, cracking images mate and congrats to the winner.
The secret is safe, Gary. The video release was perfect timing for me as I was going to this exact area just a few weeks later. I guess you must have had the GPS co-ords. I went at low tide and the area was a mass of seaweed. Having rewatched the video (now back home) I can see the location is higher up the beach. It's still a big area though. I spent 2 hours looking around without success. I asked a local on the rocks about it but they'd never heard of it. It was fun day though and that's what photography is about - some you win....... Many thanks for the content.
Another great vid Mr. G. I loved the shot at 13:10. I see your 'daredevil' exploits by the sea and I know I dont have to tell you how to suck eggs! But, I feel its important to remind people that "the sea doesnt take prisoners"! Oh, and congrats to Peter T, well done sir!
This is my local fav beach... I love it... I've been there soo many times and never fail to come up with something new each visit... and prob been 30 times in my life with a camera!
Another great video Gary. What a place, so many compositions to photograph. Shame the waves didn't play ball. The image's were absolutely stunning. Have a great time on your workshop's and i look forward to seeing your next video.
Stunning location. Great images Gary. Even if you felt the image you were after with the sinkhole wasn't quite what you were after, it was still a beautiful image. Congratulations to Peter on his win.
Great images Gary, if you ever venture further north on the same coast, there is Yellowcraigs beach and the Isle of Fidra, which has connections to RL Stephenson. You can still see Bass Rock to the south east.
Not a wasted trip Gary, some lovely images & a fascinating subject that sink /pan hole thingy . Gives you the perfect excuse for another trip there 👍 Congrats to Peter T 👏
Absolutely gorgeous location, and your pictures are wonderful! Never have been one for B&W, however I must say, your style is winning me over the more I watch. Carry on sir!
My experience of 'sinkholes' in Australia is that they are along sandy beaches. They are weird and they aren't there permanently. You just suddenly come upon a circle of bluish water in the shallows that can be up to 5~8mtrs across. No idea how deep they are and was never tempted to dive in and find out.
The pot hole is best visited about 1 hr after low tide, but it also needs a bit a wave, so it comes over the top of the rocks a calm sea won't work as it just comes around the side, don't be disheartened I visited 4 times before I got the shot I wanted 😉
