This SFT episode, starring the wonderful Shawn Stevens, was dated to September 22, 1981. Commercials during the episode are included. Brightness, exposure, color tone, and audio have been mastered in my very own archival mastering headquarters
SPECIAL NOTE:
This has been recently published by Shawn Stevens himself, but I wanted to re-publish it in my own rendition (Cutting off the commercial breaks before and after the episode and converting the sound format into "Mono" so that if you use headphones or something, you can hear the audio from both channels). My apologies to Shawn Stevens for the republishing of this SFT episode.
COMING SOON:
I have more classic episodes of "Hope Memorial" (a.k.a. "The Doctors") in my archive. Stay tuned for those!

@Draper Scott The noticeable quality of production, actors, artistry, etc. May be just my opinion but P&G CBS soaps set the bar for all of these things in the peak of soaps.

It amazing how this is obviously during SFT's CBS run.The overall quality of the show was better than the NBC run.I think if P&G would have agreed to 2:30 pm time slot it probably would have rebounded in the ratings and lasted longer.NBC made too many changes and it's fan base was with CBS viewers .

Absolutely, on CBS the quality looks better as well as the acting. I feel like after a year on NBC production value went down and they were trying to just keep the show more modern. I remember my grandmother saying she didn’t follow the Search to NBC, she wasn’t giving up Y&R.

I AGREE with you 1,000% because my grandmother loved SFT & she also loved the Y&R but when CBS dropped SFT in March of 1982 & NBC picked it up it was never the same & my grandmother stopped watching it & only watched the Y&R after that. If CBS kept SFT & they didn't kill off certain characters, especially Travis & Suzi it might have lasted a little longer.

Unfortunately, This is all that we have. Also, I’m glad that you enjoy it. Shawn Stevens published an unedited version of this same episode himself (which is still available and to whom I sincerely apologize) but this edition of the entire episode is an improved one (with the audio being centered for those of you who use headphones) and the beginning and end being trimmed (so that the focus remains entirely on the episode and the commercials aired during it). Also, I wonder what became of Sylvie after her last appearance in Henderson? (I don’t know what exact words I can use to ask this question).

@@EdwynNSanchez the quality of such old footage is really amazing. At least I got to see some of it again. I believe Travis shot and killed Sylvie in a showdown in Hong Kong if I remember right. I think CBS was being kind in switching SFT To NBC because CBS did not want to be the bad guy to cancel their beloved soap opera..XD
@woohooboy
@woohooboy 2 года назад
CBS wanted to expand "The Young & The Restless" to a full hour which it did. By doing so, it moved "Search For Tomorrow" to a different timeslot. It went from airing at 12:30pm to 2:30pm with Y&R now occupying it's former timeslot. Proctor & Gamble who sponsored the show begged CBS to return the series to its earlier timeslot. The network refused and P&G decided not to renew the show's contract with CBS when it expired in early 1982 where it moved to NBC. In a move that would twist the knife in even further, the very show which took it's original timeslot (Y&R) was now it's primary competition and "Search" was pummeled in the ratings race as a result. So in many ways, Y&R do no favours for "Search" either as a fellow soap on the same network (CBS) or especially as a rival program when the show was now airing on NBC.

@@woohooboy They actually kept SFT at 12:30 initially after expanding Y&R to an hour in Feb 1980. Y&R then moved to 1pm EST. But Y&R"s ratings slipped going directly against red-hot AMC, not to mention SFT already having it's own ratings issues pre-network switch. So in June 1981 they moved Y&R to 12:30. I've always thought, though, that CBS and P&G should've compromised and moved SFT to 1:30 instead. But it most likely wouldn't have made much of a difference as CBS would've cancelled it anyway as soon as B&B was ready to go.
