Im from Detroit, currently residing just outside the city and I can say that there are zero junk yards like the ones you frequent in the Dakotas, Nebraska, Iowa, etc. Im puzzled as to why that is. The Motor City and you'd think there'd be a spewing cornucopia of yards in this area but the reality is, its not that way. However, because of you, I now have another "must do" vefore I kneel before Jesus! Im definitely working towards taking a road trip with my son in my truck with an empty flatbed in tow with the goal of finding and hauling back two old pickup trucks!! Thank you. Brother!!!!
Yes there are some good yards in the west. Where we are it's a very dry climate so they don't rust much and it's a long ride to the scrap places so most people just let stuff set rather than crushing it thankfully. Thanks for watching! We really appreciate it.
Visit Oakleaf in Hartford, SD. Sign a waiver and you can wander their yard. It's very good. 1971 Mustang Mach 1 in Grabber Yellow when you enter, also a nice 1959 Ford Ranchero. Happy motoring.
I'm a sucker for the full-size 67 Pontiacs and that Bonneville at the 14:00 mark looked pretty dang nice! What's the owners plans with that? Is that something that he'd consider selling? Keep the videos coming! :)
Your doing just fine on these videos!! Keep on, as is. A 24:08, that model A with the trim band on the cowl - didn't that indicate a Victoria or at least a Deluxe? I thought it also had corresponding holes for the cowl lights. Good stuff, thx!
Geez. I need to move 5 hours south and collect some good rigs over the winter 🤔 😂 🤷🏼♂️ Not much for big collections of old pre or post war iron anymore 😢
Mr Hyder posed an essential inquiry about Snakes . . . I'd imagine that's a prime location for Prairie Rattlers in that part of South Dakota. Whether you call it a junkyard, salvage yard, or wrecking yard, it all boils down to one thing. It's a TREASURE TROVE❗ In my prime - - the early to mid 60s in Southeast Louisiana there were salvage yards everywhere with cars dating back into the 20s. You had to be on the alert for snakes, fire ants, poison ivy and stinging bees, wasps and hornets. Oh yes, don't leave out the irrepressible junkyard Billy goat, which would actually climb onto the automobiles trucks etcetera doing his protective duties. 🐐 I think that when Thomas Wolfe wrote "you can't go home again", he must have gone to visit the haunts of his "salad days" only to find them abandoned into weeds because the prizes had been claimed by such as movie studios producing period films, or perish the thought, by the recyclers ❗🙀 That's my story and as sad as it is, I'm sticking to it ❗😋
Id be hunting for a solid 81-87 Pontiac Grand Prix that is solid,a mid 70's b body Mopar like the 78-79 Chrysler Cordoba you pointed out early in the video,, and what I am trying to find local to trade around on is a bumpside Ford 69-71 Ford f250 hopefully a camper special and a automatic transmission truck for a project, and I will deal someone my mostly solid 2000 dodge ram laramie slt quad cab long bed 318 magnum V8 46 RE AT manual shift transfer case lever on the floor gloss black with most of the white pinstripe 1500 4x4
Did you ever get the 55 Willis wagon from the video I first contacted you on? And on the second lot there's a brown Chevy van what does he want for that?
