Belated Merry Christmas! Loved the treasure hunt and finds! The old purses are precious. My granny had several like the ones you've found. I remember they would be hanging by a nail on the walls of the old house they lived in. That Christmas wrap is awesome. Reminds me of some of the designs from my childhood. I'm sure it's probably dri-rotted, but if you were to post on your store site, I would probably buy it all.❤ Can't wait to see all the other treasures you will find.❤
It is a special person indeed who can hold an object in their hands and feel the energy of days long past. I'm so glad The Old Byrd Farm is in your hands.
If there were any ghost there or if the OBF is alive in someway, I’d say ur the perfect person to look after it. Always so respectful of history & ancestors. Long time viewer - sending peace & love ✌🏼🎅🏼🎄🦌
The oval frame looks like a frame we had in our family. It is plaster and painted black. It is my great grandmother or her mother. The photograph is a tintype metal photogragh. The dress looks like the 1850s which would be my great, great grandmother who died in 1855. So your pictures could be from 1870s or 1880s. Merry Christmas treasures from the Old Byrd Farm. Thank you and Mr. Dan, Scott, The Other Robert, and your wonderful relatives and friends for sharing your adventures, history, and restoration of your property with us.
Those photos were certainly a treasure to find. I was given a box of family photos. In the photos were 5 tintypes. It was a treasure to see photos of all my great and great great grandparents and children. It was a treasure. One of them had a name scratched on the back. I started doing some research and found out exactly who it was.It was my third great grandmother's brother. I then googled his name and found a drawing of him on line. Apparently there was a habit of drawing photos at that time. This photo was in a book and told a bit about him. He was a minister. There are people out there who can help identify people sometimes. It helped that I was working on my family tree which helped me identify the name. It is very fascinating. Merry Christmas.
Great hunt! Gold discovery in the pictures! The fireplace cover can probably be sand blasted. Just unreal all the Christmas items that the Old Byrd Farm revealed for you!! Merry Christmas, Robert!! Merry Christmas to all those in Waverly Hall and fellow viewers out in RU-vid land!! Happy New Year too! Here is to the next Wonderful Year at the Old Byrd Farm -- it's going to be fantastic!! 🎄🎄❣️❣️👍👍
Wow, wow, we wow, a TREASURE HUNT!!! YEAH!!! LOVE IT!!!! Even if the glass items are broken, still make candles, the history is the main attraction to the items.
Those pictures, so neat! I love all the things you find that are tangible things connecting us to the people no longer around to tell their stories. Everyday items-they’d probably be shocked if they knew how many people in 2023 get excited over it 😂 yet here I am, with no personal connection to anyone or anywhere in the southeast, watching this and ooohing and ahhhing right along with you!
I've been watching your journey with the Old Byrd Farm and about a year ago got my husband hooked. We checked everyday for new videos and watched together. It is one of our favorite "shows". I lost him 38 days ago. It's so comforting to still watch and pretend he is sitting in his chair beside me. I'm not much in a holiday mood but Merry Christmas and thank you for making me feel like I still have him with me.
I worked at a museum for almost 20 years. It is best if you don't put the book in that wooden shelf. The oils in the un-painted wood will cause damage to the paper. Also not in direct sunlight. I really enjoy both your RU-vid channels. Merry Christmas
That book is so special and the sentiment written when people wrote with eloquence. The tour you gave a few videos ago really shows how special the old house is. Thank you for sharing that.
Merry Christmas Robert! I was going to point out the Christmas nutcracker on the mantel, but I see some others already mentioned him. The angels on the mantel might be Christmas angels as well. Also, try not to pick up antique pitchers by the handles without supporting the body. The handles are the weakest points and can easily snap. Okay, enough nitpicking! Love watching your Old Byrd Farm videos!
Merry Christmas, Robert and the team. The framed pictures intrigue me. What are the chances that someone painted or drew a picture of the Byrd first wife who died. It was beautifully but amateurishly framed and was kept but not treasured. I really like the primitive cabinet that Ben Reeves gave you. It's a perfect fit for the farmhouse. What treasures the house still has to yield.
Very cool finds. It’s possible some yet unknown descendant may have copies of those same pictures in their collections. I’m glad you found them before they got damaged. I wish you all a Merry Christmas! 🎄🌟
Strange you found the book from Christmas 🎄 1905 I also come across a book that was left to me by my late grandparents which is also 1905 it's about the tzar Nicholas 11 of russia I thought I had lost it when I moved anyway it's amazing what you have come across while sorting out have a fantastic Christmas 🎄 Robert and all the gang and the jug looks Victoriana Johnson ware is a good company well know in Britain all the best Andrew south wales uk 👍 👌 😀 🇬🇧
Those pictures are a great find! Mr. Dan may recognize the people from some historical publications he is familiar with from your area. Merry Christmas to The Old Byrd Farm, and a happy new year of digging and finding treasures!
She could have just been practicing writing that dedication in a random book of hers and she gave away a completely different book. I often practice writing messages on cards or gift wrap.
I saw an old scarf that had city decorations. You can date it. 550Tx have followed you and the old Byrd farmhouse. From the beginning. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Hello Blue.
LOVE the old photographs. The civil war gentleman looks to have a bit of your own features, Robert. Would be amazing if at some point in time, you could put the face to an ancestor of yours. and so it continues, the OBF keeps giving. Wishing you and your family and friends, have a very Blessed and Merry Christmas.. God bless all of you.
Compliments of the season FRM Perth in Western Australia where our Christmas Eve/Day temperatures are likely to be just 33 to 38 degrees! (But we measure out temperatures in Celsius/Centigrade!)
That was awesome. I love going through the hidden treasures at the old Byrd farm. Man I would love to help clean that place out. No telling what you'll find in there.
Merry Christmas Robert to you and your family and all the extended Old Byrd Farm family we have had the pleasure of meeting this past year. Have a good break and enjoy it. Love and regards from South Africa.
Some very cool finds. I love those old pictures, but more often than not there are no names of who the people were. Merry Christmas, Robert to you and your family and all your friends and helpers we see on here with you, and to all the You Tube family who follow you on your adventures. I'm looking forward to more adventures in 2024.
My lungs hurt just watching all that stuff floating around in the air and I wondered what your lungs were actually looking like. I loved the picture find, and also think that Benjamin will be very happy.
The first violin : a novel. In three volumes by Fothergill, Jessie, 1851-1891; Richard Bentley and Son, publisher; Billing and Sons, printer. Publication date 1878
Merry Christmas Robert to you and your family and partisapents on your channel🎄. The one sweater with the print down the middle of the front reminds of Joy. 👍✌
I bet that bedroom is hiding a bunch of treasures!!! It's a very interesting room! Do you think that you'll move into the house when you get it to where you want it? Also, thank you for sharing your life with us and I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas!!! ** I had to come back to say how great the clothes and the pictures are!!!
That old house is so lucky you love it so much! She is sharing her historical treasures with you pretty regularly!❤ Merry Christmas to you and all your followers on here!🎄🎄
I have the exact same coal burning fireplace front. I have the original summer cover on it. I think the one there at the Byrd Farm had a different front added with a stove pipe hole added. BTW I apologize for an insensitive comment I had made on a previous video. Sometimes I really don't think. I deleted it.
Merry Christmas I love love your show room. I agree we need a great place to sit. Oh such an exquisite mantlepiece in the bedroom. So much character in the room. All those old pieces would make great flower pots!
