Really like that chart at the end. Really puts into perspective on where the racket sits on the spectrum of other rackets. With that high stiffness but foam filling how is the comfort of this racket relative to speed MP that has one of the lower RAs on the list? Maybe a consideration of a new row for your chart for us older peeps falling apart slowly.

Thanks! I think I found the Nova to be more comfortable, but part of that would be strings. I only tried the new Speed with Lynx Tour, which is a lot less comfortable than the Wasabi I used to test the base Nova. As things sit, I struggle to gauge comfort. Very very few racquets have every given me issues and lately, I'm seeing really inconsistent results in terms of what people deem "comfortable" on not. There are a lot of different things that can bother different people in different ways. You can use the charts to inform what might be comfortable to you depending on what bothers your arm. I'd say comfortable racquets would score highly in torsional and lateral stability while also offering good ball pocketing and a more muted feel.

Great review! The table you put at the end confirms my problem with the Vcore 100, the slices are too floaty, is there a way to solve it with a different string setup? Currently using Hyper G soft 1.25 at 46 lbs, will buy a string consultation soon!

Yeah cut out the Hyper-G Soft asap. HGS is one of my least favourite strings ever, so launchy and floaty I'm not surprised you are having problems. Try Polytour Pro or Toroline Caviar and bump to 49/46lbs (split tension).

If you are happy to try a multifilament, try Head Velocity in a thick gauge such as 1.35 or 1.4mm. I used to have Poly tour Pro 1.25 in the new vcore 100 and the slices SUCKED. Also volleys and drop shots were terrible. No feel. The ball would either fly off the stringbed, OR would just instantly die and go straight into the bottom of the net.... Since Stringing my vcore 100s with a Thick Multi. I'm now hitting the best backhand slices I've ever hit in my life. They are 1mm over the net, with a skidding bounce. I'm hitting clean winners with my slice backhand now.. its insane. You need to use a thick gauge though because the rackets have such a wide open string spacing so you want the durability and lower launch angle of the thicker gauge. Enjoy. I really disliked full poly in these rackets... too muted with zero feel and the ball flies off the stringbed with no dwell time or pocketing ... I also love the Ezone 100s ... these slice great too. For some reason the ezone 98 doesn't slice well... I think the low twistweight, thinner beam and less forgiving/unstable head is the culprit... the racket wants to naturally flex and curve under the ball too much.

Highly recommend stringing this on the lower end for dwell-time, I was down at 48lbs with Confidential in the Tour and it was fine for me

I'll do my best given that I'm a two hander. I think it would be great. Very fast, not clunky, nice feeling throat for when you take the racquet back. I think the Tour would be especially since its got a little extra stability and would help you hit through the court a little easier.

which string do you recommend on a 2023 pure aero 100? already tested the poly tour rev 1.25 but nothing special, same but a little bit better with the alu power vibe 1.25 and now I have to try the confidential

I do agree, PT Rev is nothing special. Not bad, but could be better. I think Grapplesnake Tour M8 was our favourite in that racquet but its been ages since I hit an Aero 100. My buddy told me he really enjoy Ether/Wasabi X in his PA Rafa recently.

I’m an (aspiring) all court player currently wielding the Percept 97 and 97H. If I, all of a sudden, wanted to dabble in the dark arts of power racquets, would the Nova be a good contender, or maybe say an EZone 100? Keep up the great work dr. godmode!

If you hit a lot of topspin, I'd go with the Nova, but if you hit flatter, the EZONE will prob be better. I'd even consider something like the Radical MP for noticeably more power at a lower weight.

All my usuals, Wasabi Hybrid, K-Pro, Confidential, Tour Sniper, Silver 7 Tour... all of these are on the control end of the spectrum and offer good access to spin without being launchy or erratic

Tried or heard about the new Solinco Confidential 3.0? Sky blue kind of like RS Zero. The darker 2.0 hasn't even hit the stores (that I know of) and I've already seen this 3.0 in some guy's Instagram. Is it for real?

I believe its remanence of an old batch. I asked Solinco about the blue Conf several months ago and they said they was from an old testing phase, and might become something else (Hyper-G round????) but they have moved very far on from that old formula.

I remember someone commenting on RU-vid that it had on par snapback (in terms of slipperiness I assume) with Zero and Wasabi. Also thanks for your reply.

@@Maiqel idk if its a scam and so far as I'm aware, Hyper-G round is the only new string scheduled soon for release by Solinco. I think all this snapback testing they did through different versions of COnf was for HG Round.

Crazy how hard it is to use other people's reviews as references. Not a knock but damn. Beckett's chart says shift is a POS but for me it's a goated frame (weighted up ofc). MPtennis almost switched to it except for elbow pain, but TW says it's mediocre. Guess that's why you always gotta try yourself first 🤷

The Shift is especially polarizing IMO. When I use it, I can see the appeal for sure. Same as how I can see the appeal of the Clash. But its hard for me to recommend because its so polarizing. I didn't even play badly with the Shift, just didn't really "get it" I guess.

Yea. I understand what you're saying. The first time I used it too, it was stock and I didn't understand it at all either. Balls were either too spinny and short, or take a flatter swing and it sailed long. When balls sat up, I could crush but they didnt have much pop and had no weight. When I was pushed back, the racquet had no weight or plow to defend. It wasn't all that, until I added weight in the handle and 12 that it felt "special". Ig the best way I could describe it is, when you want a little less power than pure drive, a little "less" spin than aero (less loopy), and a little more control than both. You get the speed mp which is more drive focused, you get the extreme mp which is more spin focused, or you get the shift which is right in the middle both of those too. It's like a less controlled pure strike. Feeling is different, but the ball/results itself lends to a pure strike on steroids. Until you add weight and get more racquet lag and plow, it really is just another gimmicky frame, and unless you have a semi or full western stroke and RHS.... 🗑️. Either way, nice video. My experience with the Nova 2 was that it had a lower launch angle than most "power" racquets, and didn't feel that fast through the air but interesting to see the 3rd gen nova seems to have fixed it.
