In a few weeks we will be visiting Portugal and among other places Manteigas, so your video is perfect for us. It gives us a good impression and what to expect. Looking forward to seeing your next video.🙂
Fantastic 😃 how long will you have here? Just visiting or considering a move? 🤔 excellent we are so happy to help 👌looking forward to sharing the next one
We are in Portugal on holiday. We haven't been in Portugal before so everything is new and we are sure that you live in a wonderful country. And I just checked where the restaurant is where you had your lunch and we are going to stay 1 min. from it, so I think that we must try to eat there as well. We drive from Denmark all the way so we have planned to use one week to get to Chaves where our trip in Portugal begins.
@@evabloecher Fantastic 😃 you will have an amazing holiday in this region and we highly recommend Restaurante Berne especially as you’re staying very close. We also highly recommend a trip to the brilliant Guarda Rios restaurant and the waterfall river beach there (we’ve done videos showing this Poço da Broca da Barriosa) ❤️ we also have a great suggestion to visit not too far from manteigas in our next video 😃💯🏝️
Hi Jonny and Sam 😃 Another great video! Belmonte's castle looks amazing! The same for the restaurant view 😃 I hope the food was good, at least it was looking very good 🤤🤤 It looks like that Jonny was interested in Sam's dessert but when his arrived at the table the silence just showed that this time he choose a good one 😅 The river beaches were great as well and the shade was a god's gift after riding the bikes under +35 Celsius degrees 😅 Already waiting for the next video! Keep safe! Abraço 😃
Thanks so much David 😃 the castle was pretty cool but we were surprised to learn the amphitheater was built so recently. It’d be amazing to see something like that in its original form. The food was great and yes fortunately Jonny enjoyed his dessert this time but if he didn’t I bet he’d want to swap 😅 if you think that river beach was nice wait until our next video 😏 see you then! Abraço também
Hey folks! Did you take a stroll around my area, Belmonte? You missed out on the medieval festival last week with sword fights and cavalry displays.⚔ These roads are fantastic for motorcycles but a nightmare for cars.😱 They'd be great for some drifting. 🤙😁Now the rivers are getting dry due to the heat. By next month, there should be water around again. Keep strong 💪. And how about that delicious food, huh?😋
We didn’t but we felt like we missed out as when we did some more research it seems there’s a lot to explore in the village 😃👌 oh wicked! We missed that damn 🤦🏻♀️ was it the same weekend we were star gazing? 12th/13th august? If not then double damn! We’ve been wanting to go to a medieval festa for a while! Oh for sure pretty much every mountain road we go on Jonny wants to take his car 😅👌 yeah was so good! We highly recommend Restaurante Berne
O vidio foi fantástico gostei muito o país é lindo mas está muito calor. Gostei muito do castelo nao conhecia aliás nao conheço nada do centro Portugal só a Serra da Estrela. THANK YOU VERY MUCH GOD BLESS YOU 🇬🇧🇬🇧💯% nice 🚴♂️🚴♂️
muito obrigada pela sua bela mensagem. estamos felizes que você tenha gostado do nosso vídeo. esperamos que você se junte a nós no próximo. bênçãos 😃💯💫
Hi guys! Great ride. We did this road back in April but not a bike but on a rental cage😅 😅 We stayed overnight in Manteigas at the same place you had lunch. Very nice place and will definitely go back, on a motorcycle of course. We did the famous N222 along the Douro the following week and rented an RT1250. Excellent place to ride and highly recommend
Hey 👋 thanks so much. Oh sweet! Yes hotel Berne is a really nice place we will be back too. Let us know when you plan your next trip here 😃 amazing we’ve made a note of your suggestion Jonny has mentioned going up near the Douro a few times I’m not exactly sure where but we rode a bit of it on our trip last year. Oh cool 😃 we certainly have this information saved
8:40 looks delicious. Great job with your Portuguese. Gotta love Google maps sometimes. Beautiful countryside. Thanks for sharing. What mic and walkie talkie set do you use? It sounds pretty clear for bike mics.
It sure was! Thanks so much we are learning everyday little by little we’ll get there. Our pleasure to share our trips with you 😃 We are using the Sena 50S Bluetooth headset connected to a gopro hero 10 and we must admit the connection is not always stable we lost alot of audio from this trip so we are looking into alternatives ways.
8:17 - Not at all, that was actually quite good considering your Portuguese level! 👏 10:00 - If you want a real chicken-strip killer, you have one quite close to where you live: the road between Pampilhosa da Serra and the Santa Luzia Dam. It's called the bikers' paradise for a reason. There are also some river beaches on that area. The chicken-strip on my tyres was usually about 1-1.5cm but everytime I went there it completely rounded off the edges of the contact patch of both tyres, to the point that it was "scary" to think that I was riding on the area between the contact patch and the sidewall. But the R1 was a completely different beast. 😀 10:07 - Remember, if a word has an accent, the stress is on that syllable: VÁR-zea instead of vár-ZEA. 😉
Hey 😃 thanks for your comment and thanks for the compliment, we both are trying our best to learn. I’ve made a note of your suggestion, our list is starting to grow that’s for sure 😃 we absolutely love exploring our new home country. 😯 I haven’t managed to push that far on my MT09 yet, I think I need to go on a familiar road a few times to improve my confidence 😃 Thanks for the advice, we’ve learnt that pronunciation makes a huge difference to being understood 👌
You two are all tricked out with phones and head cameras and I would be the one going slowly that you would have to pass LOL. Lovely tour I will be there looking for a farm in Dec. Excited to continue to follow your progress on the farm. Cheers enjoy the fall soon. Gina in Upstate New York USA moving to Portugal
We also just got a new insta 360 camera seems way better than our current 2 camera set up as we can get more angles with 1 😎👌 Hehe! 🤭 thanks so much and we look forward to hearing about your trip in December 😃 Yes we are looking forward to cooler weather for sure! All the best Gina 😃, Jonny and Sam
@@jonnyandsamofficial hey hi good for you. How fun. You are wayyyyy ahead of me. I am beginning a youtube channel starting with my renovation here in Upstate Ny. I wanted to practice all of this before arriving in Portugal to film my research and travels when looking for property. then I have to return state side in March until Dec of 2024. So at some point i will apply for visa but you know it has to all be done in increments. I am looking in your vicinity with joseph. I am sure we will meet at some point. Keep inspiring. Cheers Gina in Upstate New York USA moving to Portugal
The information that I found online and included in the video explained that the west wing of the palace burnt (not mentioning the stone) and that the castle was then abandoned by its habitants. No idea if it’s true or not 🤔
The roof structure would have consisted of wooden beams etc. and looking at castles of the period, there would have been many wooden interior features - panelling etc.
The toll roads that we travelled on throughout Portugal were excellent with little traffic. Tolls are not that expensive and easy to register and pay online if you have your own vehicle.
@@jonnyandsamofficial Yes, if you like greenery, less humidity, mountainous views, and the best food in the country, Minho region is the spot, the further north you'll experience a mystical Celtic vibe throughout the country side, just one thing.... the Ocean or Rivers are much cooler, lol Sam, it's Zaur, if you remember me, YT banned me from commenting so I closed the account and using my original account, lol
