I won the pool on the Blackhawk out of Niantic back on a trip from Colorado in 2010. 16lb beauty. I grew up with a cottage in Misquamicut before we moved here to Colorado in 91’. I miss the hell out of the ocean and party boat fishing. It’s been 15yrs since I’ve been back east but it’s time for a trip. Love the channel man I don’t miss a video.
2 months ago schools of 15-20lb bluefish showed up in force as Sebastian inlet Florida! Extremely rare for bluefish of that size to be that far south… hopefully it won’t effect fishing up here?
I remember finding this channel several years ago and for like the first two years I swore the channel was called Sea-Monkey Fishing, reading is fundamental guys🤣
Pod of Bass? Pod? You do know that fish swim in SCHOOLS, marine mammals swim in PODS. The last I checked Stripers are not air breathing, marine mammals. Just sayin'
VA/DE/NJ/NY have them pretty good so far, though still havent invaded new england. I haven't seen or heard of another up here in RI yet, figure they'd be here on this moon
Question: how do you like the Jigging World rod? I checked out the Nexus model today at J&B tackle in Niantic and it seemed nice. I really liked the grip on it. And for the money it seemed like high quality. I need a rod to pair with my vs250 but am not able to spend the $575 to get a odm frontier. If I were to get that brand, I’d be getting the 11’ 2-6oz
Been having a lot of success with a 1/4 ounce kastmaster with the bucktail trailer for largemouth bass in my local pond in Massachusetts over the past week. I'm tempted to buy the bigger version with the tube trailer for saltwater.
I have never bought the one with the tube, though it would certainly work. I like just a plain treble on the back, but they catch fish, especially those blues whenever they show up
If you must fish from the rocks find a safe place to retrieve your catch and have the proper foot wear. A couple of weeks ago we were mutual aided to a neighboring town and apparently a young man tried to land a fish or try a different approach and he slipped, hit his head and was snagged by the next guy to try his luck a little later that morning, DOA.
i have a 22ft trophy Walk around cuddy with a 150 Yamaha 4 stroke. i live in NK. any time you want to go out and teach me how to fish for stripers let me know. im ok at fishing for stripers but defiantly could use some schooling. we can hit up McKinleys on the way back to the boat ramp for burgers and a beer.
You could quick your day job and do this full time if you wanted. No disrespect to other fishing RU-vid channels, but yours is most entertaining. Just not enough content.
I am hoping I can finally get in on the true hot bite for once in jersey, seems like the bass and blues schedule is matching up with mine pretty well haha. Great video, getting me hyped to hit the surf in nj very soon.
Bluefish been going strong on LI. Feels like we are a week behind in some spots, been a little slow but all choppers. Haven't caught one under 13 pounds yet this season
they showed up further south early, but seem slow to move up this way. Ive still not had another bite from a blue yet this season, no invasion just yet
Every time you unhook a fish with your hands I get flashbacks to when I got got double hooked in the hand doing the same thing. Someone please get this guy a boga and pliers!
It would be interesting to hear the "few theories out there" (regarding the healthy bluefish population) and maybe your thoughts. Maybe commercial industry related or bait related?
big winter run in FLA, Blues tagged here that were recaptured off europe that have apparently returned, commercial guys claiming huge schools offshore.. those were the theories leading into this season for a big run here.
@@ChrisMcIntee Thanks Chris, If ever you want to make it to VT, to fish lake Champlain, let me know, I'll hook you up with a place to stay (camping out on my land). We could probably win the LCI, lol.
