It's an ordinary, peaceful market day in Lyngarth when 17-year-old Ren (Outlander's Sophie Skelton) bumps into a troop of soldiers searching for a pair of mysterious fugitives.
Ren: The Girl with the Mark is an independent fantasy action series directed by Kate Madison (Born of Hope). This is Episode 1 of 5.
Our series is the tale of a young woman who, after a strange encounter in the woods, is marked by an ancient spirit. Cast out from her small village, she is forced to leave behind the family she has spent her whole life protecting and journey across the land to find the real meaning behind the mark she bears.

Round of applause to the set designer. The locations are so intricate they really bring this to life. I love the attention to detail. It helps this series overcome the majority of flaws most web series have. I cannot wait to see where the story goes. Amazing work!

RU-vid rarely fascinates me anymore. But in very rare occasions.. not only am i surprised but i cannot believe how lucky i am to enjoy beautiful experiences such as this one. I would like to thank you for your wonderful work. I am a huge medieval fan fantasy and this series left me speechless. Beautiful actors, amazing landscapes, wonderful cgi.. Good work!

AHHHHHHH this was amazing!!! Such an exciting first episode :) I love Ren's character development already...She stands out as a free thinker, unaware that her differences shall soon become illuminated...I can see that she is carefree but she soon will be faced with challenges that will cause her to question all that she has known. Can't wait to see how this unfolds, how she becomes a Marked One and what that entails. Eeeeee!!!! Also, the filming locations were absolutely stunning, stellar camera work, and just gorgeous visuals. Okay I'll stop now. #rentheseries #fangirling #amazing

@@lynnjohnson6972 It's obviously parental discretion and we've not been officially rated. There is sword fighting and violence but it's a lot tamer than many Hollywood movies. We think it would be fine for young teens.

All those months of post production certainly paid off if Episode 1 is anything to go by, and to think that all this was accomplished with a miniscule budget and the good will and hard work of scores of volunteers. Belting visuals, music and direction in something that wouldn't look out of place in the BBC Saturday night slot vacated by Robin Hood and Atlantis. Congratulations to all concerned.

@@MythicaEntertainment in the first episode when Ren is in the village and is told she is not right she replies "I don't care if I am not right" that line I noticed wasn't in the captions, it went straight to "as long as my family is fed" hope that helps

Visually it is pretty impressive. The sets are wonderful for the budget, and you can see all of the hardwork. The view from the sky of the town was as good, but wish we saw more of the world from above. The sound in the first few minutes felt a bit off, possible ADR not fully mixed, but for rest of episode was unnoticeable. The script was quite intriguing from the outset, and my main criticism is that the episode wasn't long enough! But that is a good thing, haha. I even tried to click the 'next episode' annotation in hope already secretly up. Amazing work for what everybody had, and will be sharing this in hope it becomes a hit and brings possibilities to all involved.
