THE PERFORMANCE!! THAT AQUA DANCE!! THE RIVALRY!! i need more!!!!! thank you all for watching oshi no ko with me this year!! it's one of my favorites now, and i can't wait for season 2 :D
The anime really elevated the source material. Animation was amazing this episode, the banger songs is something the manga can't have, the character designs, backgrounds and lighting were beautiful. Even the pacing of this episode made the story more impactful. And the voice actors are always amazing.
@@vyk5647 Yeah, I'm so looking forward to what happens from this point on, makes me want to skim the first volume to look at the aqua and ruby interactions during the interview portions
from the series of videos they released about behind the scenes of the anime production, you can clearly sense all the staffs love this series and put their best into this adaptation
I love that when Aqua was dancing with the glowsticks and Kana was so happy about it, she thought to herself "I'm going to dye all your glowsticks white!" lmao. I dunno why but I found that just classic by her. His dance reminded me of when Ruby and Aqua went to see Ai as babies and started dancing with the glowsticks. Love this episode soo much but it's a bittersweet feeling because we have to wait for S2.
And with this episode we can really see the similarities between both Ai and Kana! 5:02 specifically makes it clear with Aqua being entranced by Kana's idol performance. Like Ai, Kana as an idol/performer has this aura that captivates Aqua (as well as others in the audience). In addition, Ruby mentions how Kana makes Aqua his "old self" (like with Ai). In the previous episode, Kana also mentions how she spits out what people want to hear from her and she puts on some mask (which is how she became center). She smiles through the lies. Sounds pretty familiar! In the anime, it's made even more obvious, with the direct visual parallels in Ai and Kana. In this performance, particular things like the winking and pointing are exactly as Ai did them. In the previous episode, a shot focused on the smiling through lies without the eyes showing is also given for Kana. Kana is my oshi...
I think the kicker is that all(or most) of the times she parallels Ai, in her case she isn't lying. When she is lying and putting on a mask she basically fails non-stop! For example her wanting to be Aqua's number 1 was genuine and translated to a great performance in the second song. Her tears in that drama she was in with aqua could also be thought to be more true to herself since she stopped faking the bad acting.
Then what about Ruby at 3:40 ? She is the true successor of Ai, whether it’s the looks (genetics) or the motivation. Ruby’s dream is to be an idol. Not Kana…if you want to know why: SPOIL Kana will quit B Komachi. Because she wants to be an actress.
@@IinkcIick I think it's worth looking at this from the standpoint of what Kana represents rather than what she wants out of life. Ai was clearly a skilled actor as that's how the never-ending facade was crafted. Kana is also a skilled actor. Thus, there are parallels between Ai and Kana that can be drawn, especially because both Ai and Kana hold are an important part of Aqua's life. Overall, though, the point here is that while all of the ways that Ai drew people in were via lies, Kana draws on truths. Regardless of what Kana decides to do with her life, she still represents a skilled performer who tries to be as authentic as possible.
I like Aqua so much as a character. It's good to see such a non-one-sided character, that has both so much light and darkness inside him. Aqua can plan to kill his father one moment, and then suddently forget it for the next minute to rush to help a girl being on the verge of a mental collapse... It's not a character that completly sink into pathos, like almost every real human it has up and downs all the time.
Plus it's rare to see a character be manipulative but not selfish. He doesn't seek revenge because this person took Ai from him, it's because they caused her death. So refreshing.
Did you heard Kana said "Oshi no Ko" to Aqua on the stage? The title of this anime. It is pretty important scene, but easy to miss. "Title drop" is an important scene in these animes and manga.
@@ItZroncruz yeah, I wouldn't say it's important. It's definitely a really awesome detail, but you're not missing anything out by not knowing something like that.
@@ItZroncruz A lot of people love hearing the title said in a show. Tbh I really liked it in Bocchi the Rock. But in other shows I could care less lol. It adds nothing.
The simple fact that the 3 otaku leader said ANY of the B-komachi girls would be lead in another group tells everything you need to know how powerful was their debut. Im gonna miss this show DEEPLY.
I like how this episode mirrors Episode 1 in some of the scenes. Aqua dancing is actually a call-back to the scene where he and Ruby was dancing to Ai;s performance. Also, it was the same song.
Aqua's just sitting there between Kana and Akane like, "My soul is too damn old for this." I wonder if Aqua not visiting Ai's grave is one of those things where because he promised to get revenge on the person that caused Ai so much pain, he feels like he can't face her until he does.
I was so happy when I saw Aqua lift the white glowstick!! Had a huge grin Kana somehow reminds me of Kaguya whenever she gets red and all cute. I m definitely team Kana! I'm an Anime only right now but it's going to be hard not to read the manga, especially because I now have physical copy of volume 1 thru 7, and there's 12 volume out there (volume 12 coming out soon)
It was one of the few anticipated series I had waited ever since it had been announced; and to be honest, it was really worth for my wait. From the prologue (Which was also one of the most emotional episodes I've seen to this date), to the gradual unveiling of the story were absolutely magnificent. So, I'm kind of greatful to watch this series, as well as your reactions to these episodes as they were airing. One thing I also want to mention, the final verse of the ending song (MEPHISTO by QUEEN BEE), which were like this: "サアア ホシ ノ コタチ ヨ, ヨク ヲ ネムリ ナサイ. カガヤキ ワ ニブラナイ, アナタタチ ナラバ." (Romaji Translation: "Saa Hoshi no kotachi yo, Yoku nemuri nasai. Kagayaki wa niburanai, anatatachi naraba") (English Translation: "Come on, children of the stars, sleep well. If you guys don't mind the brilliance and harmony.") really hit deeply into my heart when it was played after showing Ai's montage. Furthermore, it was kind of surprising to see just how much I grew to love Hoshino Ai after watching the first episode.
Season 2 actually got announced barely an hour after the Global airing of this episode! I was absolutely dreading the wait or confirmation on whether or not we would get one, but of course with such a large audience and high praises they just couldn't say no. Can't wait! ⭐⭐⭐
What I really like about this Anime is that it has a very unique touch. At one moment it gives you pure harmony, at the other the most dramatic moments, then hilarious situation etc. Because of that I watched it, then created an AMV to summarize all key scenes of season 1 and last but not least read the Manga and I can promise that season 2 will be insane 🤩 PS. Good job with your reaction. What I liked the most by your reactions that they are so real so pleasee keep it up 😊
Good video Alana ! What a great finale and adaptation ! The B Komachi's performance was astonishing ! Can't wait to see your next reactions for the next season ! A massive Thanks to Doga Kobo Studio for delivering so much love to this anime !
fun fact: the skeptic B-Komachi veteran with the bandana was actually shown after the news of Ai's murder broke in episode 1. so you you know he's a real OG fan to be standing in line for that dome-concert
You have a better patience than me. I resist until ep 3, then I had to read the manga and it was really good. Tokyo Blade is probably one of the best arcs in Oshi no Ko. I read that arc in one night and I couldn't stop until I finished. The rivalry of Akane and Kana is great and we don't have something like since Naruto/Bleach golden era
@@anomonyus-57 When will be season 2 any guess I want to shut up these kana simps They just take her character development and personality to argue anything about Akane
Something subtle that I like is the scene where Kana starts teasing Aqua about pretending to be piyeon, and Ruby and MEM have different interpretations of how the two of them are faring. It highlights the nuance of development that Aqua has had between being reborn and after Ai dies. He was never a super lively happy guy. From the start he was always a little dreary and dull. So in a way he hasn't changed too much in the context of this being a cartoon that typically has exaggerated characters. But those few years before Ai's death he was a little punchier and then once she died he definitely went full depression-edgelord mode, and even though Aqua still walks around with that default emotionless expression, I do see a little bit of that life returning to him again. And it's cool that Ruby recognizes that. It's subtle, but really cool. Another thing that's kind of related are the girls' expressions after seeing Aqua with his glowstick dance. MEM is in complete shock, Kana's face is distorted as she tries to hold back from emoting (which is pretty typical of her character), but Ruby's eyes are closed, she looks a little embarrassed, but she's the only one that's kept the smile of her performance in that moment. And maybe this is me reaching but to me that says that Ruby isn't nearly as surprised as the other two, considering that she already knows that Aqua is an idol otaku, like her, and of course at least in that one time we saw they both did the glowstick dance together. This is another subtle difference. Literally only a couple freeze frames, but it shows the difference in relationships that each of the girls have with Aqua, most notably Ruby. It's really cool because even though they don't have Ruby fawning over Aqua all the time, or Aqua constantly asserting his authority as the older brother (like other anime would do), I still feel that they have a sibling relationship, one in which they've known each other for over a decade. And it's through all of these subtle things that actually makes them feel more like a real brother and sister than a typical anime brother and sister.
I'm a manga reader, but this anime is absolutely gorgeous, I wish could be an anime only. It's still a great experience for me, of course. LOVED your reactions!
Damn, she's like me fr fr. Fellow follower of the akasaka aka cult. Just something about his writing just.... feels right. Literally head over heels for his writing. Damn so this is how it feels to connect spiritually to an internet personality tf, def feels different than fangirling together with an irl friend. Surreal
I can't wait for season 2. I'm glad they announced it already. And I'll say that if you want to stay anime only then you def should. Season 2 will be a lot of fun, looking forward to more reactions :)
2.5D is a term used by stage play fans in japan and the meaning is a stage play that the original work is a manga or anime maybe it was just me but you sounded confused of it so here’s the explanation for it
After finishing this episode, I caught up on the Manga, and on one hand I'm happy to know the story up to current, but on the other hand I'm massively spoiled. If i could do it again, I'd suggest against it 😅
What I'll say about "reading the manga" is that, given where the manga is now (which seems to be the start of the endgame), waiting for manga chapters weekly (which is what I'm doing) is probably more painful than waiting for season 2 of the anime :P
I really wish Kana's emotional state didn't depend so much on Aqua. Girl has just made a great performance thanks to her talent and the support of her friends, but her happiest moment is when she learns that the relationship of this guy, who is not even her boyfriend, is just for work.
I mean she doesn’t care as much as the Mem or Ruby on being an idol, she just wants to be noticed by ppl, and aqua happens to be the one she wants to be noticed by the most
Yeah Kana honestly doesn't care too much about being an idol. Only reason she's there is because Aqua asked her to be there. So it makes sense she'd mostly focus on that given she's not really a idol fan or anything. Ruby has always wanted to be one same as MEM. But Kana just thinks of it as a job she's doing because someone she cares about told her she'd do good. So it' kind of expected she'd care more about stuff like Aqua or what fans she gets over the job itself.
I got the first volume of the manga and then it sat unread until about a week before the show started. I'll keep reading them, not just because I dont want to wait to see what happens but so I can read all the text I can't be bothered to pausd for.
That part of the show had something better developed in the manga. Because it shows that Kana's experience as an idol has been a great learning experience for her as an actress, as she has learned to call the public's attention to herself, to be a little more selfish than always sacrificing herself for the performance of others. Kana as an actress is phenomenal, but unlike Akane who always seeks to stand out, Kana diminishes herself so that someone else can shine. Thanks to this show, she started wanting to shine. PS: Sorry for my english
I have been wanting to read the manga of Oshi no Ko for a while, but then I heard the anime was coming out and decided to wait. Now that I've gotten a taste of the phenomenal animation voice acting, and music of the anime adaptation though... I'm not sure if I can settle with reading the manga. Season 2 can't come any sooner.
This season, I realized that sometimes, it's better to have an animation, VA and music in your first experience of some scenes. Also, especially because Oshi no Ko involves alot of media.
What I've seen Manga readers say about tge next arc is that it will probably be better to experience it animated since it's a the play they were talking in this episode, it will probably tske the whole 12 episodes of the next season I've heard, it's quite long and the paxe too slow for Manga format. I will personally wait for the anime and once that arc finishes I will read the manga, this studio is making a perfect adaptation.
I’m so conflicted about wether to read the manga or not! I want more Oshi ko Ko, but the anime is so well made so I will probably also tough it out and be an anime only! It’s gonna be rough to wait, but it will be worth it 🙏🏼
Prediction Time: Akane is not gonna win. It's very clear, if you read enough fiction, as to which girl the authors are greatly favoring. It's clear as day as to the bias towards certain characters. No tropes, but subtle things authors subconsciously put into their work. I don't think if Aqua will end with Kana, since there's a possibility that he will be in jail or just dies alone. However, I'm willing to bet real money that Aqua will not end up with Akane
Just wanted to say that as a manga reader, I 100% approve waiting for the anime and not reading the manga. This adaptation is just astonishing in every way, and as amazing as the manga is, I think the anime is probably the better experience. As an example, the manga has a few pages that are more impactful than in the anime (Kana's line to Aqua at the end of the performance and Aqua blushing are good examples), but overall the animation and sound considerably improves most scenes. Specially since the manga's art only really shines in important panels, so for most scenes, the anime is vastly superior in the art department due to consistency. Same for the direction with on point camera angles and shots, the whole B-Komachi performance being an excellent example. Similarly the voice acting and soundtrack add so much. And that's not even mentioning how the anime staff is clearly VERY passionate as they do far more than they really needed to, such as making not only clips for songs like Kana's Bell Pepper Exercise and Pieyon's Boot Dance, but even making full ~4 minute versions! They made a full on MEM Vtuber for the anime's official RU-vid channel as well as live action choreography videos for every dance. They made a complete remix of B-Komachi's old songs for the new B-Komachi's performance, including even a song that was never even really played in the show (If I remember right, we saw Ai practicing it once in ep 1, and then they made a full version AND full new version too), specifically choose voice actresses who could sing for the B-Komachi members so they didn't need to have a difference one for singing etc. I could go on and on with how many incredible things the staff's done for this show.
yeah i agree with waiting but only for season 2 (which is soon) after that people should read it because we are in the last arc and they will need to wait years for the anime to get there
@@Nameless_TF I mean, if you're not feeling patient then yeah, of course. The manga is still a masterpiece after all. Some people don't mind waiting, others do. Up to you really.
Is a very good anime ! And very touching when Ai get stabbed n said good bye to the children .🥲Hope the writer or anime designer can push a season 2 n many more.🙏👍
Your Comment about not reading the manga " zettai yadah" haha. I couldn't endure it, so i yield, and I've been reading the manga since the anime hit the episode 07. T_T Agree 110% already missing the show,.. and man that stage play,..,.. Tsurugi chara is so Kana. thank you for your REACT and Opinnion about Oshi no ko in this S1 journey. ( sorry for my english)
I was ready to read the manga when this season was close to finishing. I got hooked so much but then I heard about season 2, I've decided I'm going to stay anime only. It will be hard but I'm so ready for this Tokyo Blade arc. I'm team Kana but I want the Akane vs Kana cat fight soooooo badly.
That it was decided the other day in Season 2 of "Oshi N✪ Ko" making it into TV anime; was announced! URL--->ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Cxfr5hENj54.html In the last of episode 11, there was the scene which felt the existence that looked at RUBY and AQUA through the eyes of the crow! Is the appearance of this crow some kind of foreshadowing's to Season 2? In addition, the crow is "the messenger from the heavens" or "a servant for God" and, in the Japanese Shinto, seems to be thought about existence to carry out a mission faithfully although being weird. That reminds me a crow in charge of the messenger who had a human being-like character a little appears in "Daemon Slayer"!
Ruby noticing Kanas expression during their performance and tried to give her a little boosts pointing out her smile.. As someone who has been a part of a stage performing group .. We do this as well with the instrument we're playing to hype each other up when the audience seem to be unimpressed not interested
man sad that its end on eps 11 but damn really good character development, akane really funny lmao, and no im always anime only just to get full experience. btw horimiya next season arround the corner you are going to watch right?
As a manga reader, i would definitely recommend NOT reading the manga. This is such a good adaptation and if the quality continues going forward, then its definitely worthbwaiting for. HOWEVER, i would suggest to go and read voulme 1, what the 90 minute first episode covered, because there was quite a bit cut out. More specifically, content that gives context as to where and what the end/final arc might be.
It was the best final episode that seems to be Oshi no Ko. With the title "idol", I thought that the three of them would finally be singing on the stage, but Akane's stage came up a bit. Since it's the final episode, I wanted to give Ruby, who hasn't stood out much until now, a chance to shine, but I'm glad that she got a chance to shine, even if only a little. Arima Kana is my favorite character in this anime. She's cute, and above all, she's a hard worker. Kana thinks she underestimates herself too much. She is happy that she seems to be motivated because she has finally realized the awareness of the center when she stands on the stage. Also, I'm glad Kana and Aqua were able to reconcile with each other. As for the atmosphere, I can't help but think she's looking at me wondering if she likes Aqua because Kana cares about Aqua, but I could see that Aqua didn't care. Kana is so pitiful. Even so, Aqua was dancing with the 3 penlights, and Kana must have been happy. And it was decided that Aqua, Akane, and Kana would also appear on the stage. I have mixed feelings, but I will continue to support Kana. It might be weird, but I want to see Kana shine more than Akane. I thought the second season would definitely come, but I didn't think it would come so soon. Or rather, I'd like you to animate until the final episode. I'm sorry that my English is not good.
Don’t worry about Ruby, her time will come but we must be (very) patient. She’s the true star of this show after all (as we can see in this episode, she’s Ai’s successor)
