This is based on the play "Bluebeard's Castle" the castle symbolizes Bluebeard's soul and the doors the secrets one's soul hides. In the play the last door that his wife was told not to open has his past dead wives and in most but not all versions of the play Bluebeard attempting to murder his current wife is killed after her, Judith, tricks him, she then remarries and inherits the state and his fortune living hapily.

WAIT SO ITS BASED ON THAT STORY WERE A HUSBAND HAD LOCKED HIS PREVIOUS WIFES D34THS? Like i remember it was something like The main girl was The new wife, And the guy gave her a key, and she couldn’t open a red room, she opened it and saw that They were there the previous wifes d34th, and in the versio i read she escapes but only her? is it based on that right? Like its literally the same history that appears on the trailer :0

Wow! I was just thinking of Bluebeard last month, what a coincidence. Definitely a nostalgic story for me since it’s been years since I watched an animated story of it that stuck with me until now.

I thought it was based on sleeping beauty 😪 BUT I DID KNOW IT WAS BASED ON SOMETHING OLD LIKE A STORY
