Season 4 of Diablo 4 is currently on the PTR, but the seasonal theme is not included, and has not been revealed. With that in mind, we have recently gotten some leaks that give us a glimpse into the seasonal theme for season 4. This includes a new elixir that will allow you to juice or boost helltides difficulty and loot.

PTR Helltides are FUN now..yes, I said it. FUN! No more chasing around to find mobs. The mobs come to you. Open a chest, mobs. Stand around for 2-3 seconds, mobs. Pick up flowers, mobs. DO ANYTHING - mobs. You don't even have time to scratch your nuts...it's insane! The spawning of boss level mobs make it even more fun. It's just mayhem now....just like it should have always been. I probably spend 60% of my time in Helltides now...where before I would do them because I had to...MAYBE once a day. Mats dropping all over the place (I know, its PTR...and will likely change) but it is something I hope they keep just like it is when S4 releases! There is alot of other fun stuff as well, but Helltides are the biggest change that I felt worthy of sharing.

@@johnannex8435 I've been playing a ton of PTR personally as well, and I can confirm: Helltide will be better than it is on live D4 by a country mile. So much density and the ambushes + threat meter is absolutely amazing, you won't really have like lots of empty time in between encounters. They made a lot of materials consolidated, so some elite packs can drop a ton of 1 sort of Mat or gold for example, Treasure Goblins now also drop some boss summoning mats like Distilled Fear or Exquisite Blood or any of the mats you would need for Varshan. It's just incredible how much fun I've been having with Helltide and I can't wait until S4 launches :D

It's true. I went back to ER to level up some other toons. I was so bored with the HT that I went back to PTR. It's gonna keep me from 'retiring' from this game. HTs are fun now, non-stop action. Hellsworn and bosses can actually kill you now, which is great.

Also: there is a reason to do HTs now. Chests drop steel obv AND runeshards, which u need for pit. add the threat meter, challenging mini-events, elite frenzies - it's wild

What about legendary or unique elixirs ? New legendary elixir:upon reaching level 50, you unlock an extra 20 paragon points. New unique elixir:upon consuming, you gain +1 to all skills until you reach level 100. I think exciting rare drops like that would be awesome!

They should make an elixir for boosting NMDs the same way. Make enemies harder, but give a larger reward and glyph XP at the end

Stacking mind cages wont happen, and thank god. Cause that sounds horrible. If you stacked like 10 of them and were fighting level 200 monsters, someone else is going to be there fighting them like they are level 100 monsters and it just wouldnt work right. They would have to die fast enough for the other players, which means they would die at the same speed for you. The goal would be to run around in groups, but not partied up, and let one guy use the mind cages while the lower level people actually kill the mobs, cause for them they are only level 100 monster. Would be way to hard to balance.

There's a ton of potential with a factions system. They should take a cue from Grim Dawn with that kind of thing and start rolling it in throughout the seasons.

Since enemies scale to your level, I don't think you'd benefit from other people's Mindcages. You'd benefit from the increased density when people spawn mobs and Hellborns (most likely), but I'd guess that would be the only benefit if you don't have your own Mindcage. It is still a big improvement and leveling via hell tides looks dope as hell!

I get a kick out of all these big streamers "testing" the game and just going off on builds. No guys we need to test the game not figure out maxroll builds.

They been reporting the builds overperforming due to bugs. Example the Druid hitting for trillions of damage, without people testing the builds, those things would had made it to S4

The higher levels should have better drop rates. The problem is farming Ubers still feels bad but it’s still the best source of getting items. Also, they need to make hell tide progression carry over to the next one IMO. That being said, the changes are all pretty good on the ptr!

I got a bug where I cannot get back into The Pit because no more rune shards will drop after killing nearly half a billion hell tide monsters.

This one doesn't make sense...it is an open world event. So if a couple OP parties come in and all the monsters are +80 levels, what happens to the casual solo playing a non-masterworked/tempered character? They just can't do anything themselves in the helltide?

You have your own instance of monster level. So you share the monsters but if you’re level 80 and I’m level 100 your monsters are level 82 while mine are 102. If I used this elixir that pushes the levels by 10 you’ll still have 82 monsters I’ll just have 112

Even if that were the way it worked, it's more likely to become even more beneficial for the lowbies because the "+80 levels" people will bulldoze the entire zone for everyone. Like, what in this game has ever been challenging in a remotely similar way? Nada.
