I can guarantee you that someone in marketing is fuming right now that they dropped the nerf hammer on the hammer right before releasing a ton of sick skins, but honestly I got mad respect for them nerfing it now vs. next week after they could have sold a ton of skins and then pissed off a bunch of people with the post-skin release nerfs.

The melee lunge for the Sledgehammer was a bit over the top and needed nerfing but the movement speed was incredibly good in a non-op way. The Superi, Horus and Kar98k being untouched is completely stupid. Everyone is using it and matches have gotten very stale.

Man. I love meleeing too and the sledgehammer was a breath of fresh air in MW3. They really should have either just stuck to reducing the movement speed or the range of the swing, not both at the same time in my opinion. And with such heavy penalties too.

I basically just hop into game and I felt so slow using the hammer that even guys using an LMG ran faster than me. That’s a big L for the hammer it was so much fun using it.

I used the sledgehammer today and I didn't really notice that big a difference. It still has decent lunge with the heavy melee. Overall, it felt fine to me. But I also run a different vest and setup vs. you, so that could play into how you feel about it.

I use the sledge and throwing knife mainly but I did notice a slight change in movement but it hasn’t been that bad I’m not sure if it’s because of the servers or if it’s me but I’ve been having such a hard time with the sledge because for some reason it’s not registering my hits from being two feet away and it’s pretty annoying but I watch your videos all the time hopefully we’ll meet up in a match one day keep up the good work

tbh, I think the movement speed was warranted. But the range definitely wasn't. That was the whole point of the sledgehammer. A long wind-up time but huge range. The wind-up is slower than nearly every weapon TTK in the game. If they're gonna nerf it this hard, at least decrease the wind-up time for that attack. What they did is like if they removed the ability to hit ppl through riot shields with the Soulrender. That was the whole point of the weapon. Also, I fully expect you to make a compound bow build when that comes out.
