Love that you say you are over mini bags. I too have things I need to carry which is why we carry a handbag. Mini bags are cute but maybe for special occasions

I really enjoyed this. I only have 3 bags that are season specific. Most of them I wear all year round. The one I have been wearing non stop this summer is the Aspinal Of London Large Lottie in taupe, which is a lot like galet. It’s such an easy colour to style. But I can see myself using it in winter too as it looks great with my trench coat. With your Valentino bag, I clean out fluff and other stuff that clings to the inside by wrapping packing tape around my hand about 5 times with the sticky side on the outside. You can then pat the inside of your bag with your hand and it picks up an astonishing amount of stuff. It’s much more effective than a roller or a clothes brush.

It’s interesting watching you go through cycles Wendy. You cut your bag collection right down, said you were uncomfortable with the luxury excess and wouldn’t be buying expensive bags regularly . Then you’ve moved back into buying again, I think a lot of us do the same thing ( although I don’t have anything like your- budget- 90% of my bags and clothes ( non designer) are preloved . I think the Loewe is very expensive for what it is and looks a bit like Orly Kiely to me.

Wonderful video, Wendy! I’ve sold most of my collection over the past two years, since moving to Idaho a few years back. It was due to a combination of the extreme weather where I live and reassessing whether I use them enough to justify the price tag. I did keep three LV bags, two in Epi leather and one in Damier Ebene. The Epi and DE are less flashy but super beautiful and durable. I also recently found a vintage Gucci hobo in mint condition from a small reseller in Florida with very reasonable prices, even though the handbags she sells always seem to be in excellent to new condition! My bottom line currently (haha😂), is to be more mindful about purchases, making sure it isn’t trendy or an impulse, and ~ a handbag I won’t treat as a museum piece!
