Join me as I unbox the new Mabon deck in the Seasons of the Witch oracle series that I previously have adored so much. We will see how I feel as I begin to work with this deck more but at the moment I am not sure if I will continue on with collecting the rest of the decks in the series.

I'd love to share that! Thanks for asking! ✨ In Short, I have only worked with it maybe 10-15 times. In my experience it's not a daily draw kind of deck. I find I personally work with it for ancestor work. I enjoy the images and top key word and will often ignore the rest & leave the guidebook in the box. However, I still am not chomping at the bit to get any of the newer decks to complete the set. I'm not in a place where I want to pass it along yet, but it never made it onto a favorites list either. If for some reason I didn't have it , I probably wouldn't miss it. If it's calling to you, then it's worth giving a try. It's not a "bad" deck. & Many people really love it. I'm just personally still on the fence. I hope that helps!

I didn't mind that they removed the poems. I found them not as coherent as id like. That said my main issue was the guide book. Every card description starts off the the same saying your higher self chose this card. That bothered me so much! I personally like the artwork and feel it fits in the same world as the other decks and i like the word choices. But the guidebook felt like an oversight.

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment and share your thoughts. I definitely get what you mean with the guidebook. I noticed the repeated phrase myself later on. Quite disappointing indeed compared to some of the previous books.

I get what you're saying about the invocations, but my issue with them is that they often seemed to be using language the author wasn't familiar with and just wanted to use because it sounded fancy - it often had grammatical and spelling errors, like "heroing" instead of "harrowing" and using "thy" and "thou" incorrectly. To be honest, that's what made me pass on the first few decks after watching flip-throughs of them. The Mabon deck was the first one I actually picked up because a) there are fewer errors because the invocations are gone and b) the artwork is SO pretty! I'll probably end up getting the rest of the set eventually though... I'm a sucker for a matching set, lol.

I completely agree with you on this, it is so so sad they have removed the poems. It took me some time to appreciate them in the other decks, but once you do, they are really a new layer. Also beginners will 1. not understand every single little symbol in each card 2. stop being beginners and become experienced really fast, and thus no longer needing "beginners" decks. Sad to see this change and maybe we should write and ask for the poems back? So perhaps we can have them on a summer deck to complete the seasons... Art looks amazing though

I love this idea for providing them feedback! I am not someone who will usually reach out and complain about a product but since that seems to be what led to this change, it may be the best course of action. I also loved the point you made about at some point you stop being a beginner. I so agree. We all start out somewhere but most of us also like to deeper our practices after we "begin". We need more decks on the market for non beginners. Thank you so much for adding your thoughts to this discussion! It was lovely to read. ✨💖

I absolutely love your reaction and agree!! Also, it was kind of funny to listen to 😂 but yes, I understand both sides. I never connected with the artwork strongly on the first deck but I also enjoyed the poems/invocations. But, I also haven’t purchased any of the other decks. I don’t like the artwork in this one much better. Idk what I’ll do if I’ll get the others or not. lol! I hope you end up enjoying working with it!

So happy you were able to hear the humor in it! I totally agree. The artwork is slightly better but it's still not my favorite. It was nice to hear that we have had a similar experience with these decks. Yes, fingers crossed. I am sure it has something to teach me but I will remain a little salty for now 😆

Thank you for sharing your genuine feelings about this deck! I agree with you and find that poems on the cards made these decks so magical. I'm also sad they removed those. There was something so special about them. But we are definitely not the majority with such a vision 🤷 Also I agree with another viewer who found the same beginning phrase for each card a bit weird. Otherwise, the art is really beautiful and I still love this deck series.

Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts! I totally agree. You summed up my feelings perfectly! I'm crossing my fingers but not holding my breath that they will at least do 1 summer deck with the poems so that each party preference can have a 4 season set. We shall see though.

Thank for this thorough review! I never picked up any of the seasons of the witch decks because I cannot connect to the artwork. This one I LOVE the artwork so I am contemplating about buying it. I am curious how your opinions of the deck had evolved. And if you have any fav tarot or oracle decks for the summer time!

My pleasure. I must be honest, I have not used it much at all since receiving it. Although I did film a video of me connecting with it in a new way when I revisited it last week. I should have that up on the channel shortly if you're interested. Great question, you know, as much as I adore summer I don't have many "summer decks". Although I hope to be making a video soon sharing the ones I did use the most this summer. So it will be interesting to see for myself what I end up pulling for that. Thanks for watching!! 💖

tbh as a non native english speaker I didn't like the invocations, I didn't really understand them and they were very confusing to me.
