only if the person using the dry fly dont know how to use it. in the right hands the dry fly is far superior to any wet fly a wet fly can only be used 1 way casting it slighty down river and streaming it meaning of 180 degrees u can only fish about 45 degrees wile the dry fly can be fished up stream down stream and down stream every where in between meaning you can use the full 180 degree speed of the water dont matter fast slow even standing water it will still take fish

I'm turned off by the big money spent travelling to exotic locations with private fisheries as displayed in this video.

Not true in most of my experiences the wet fly when used correctly is just as good or better than the dry fly it all comes down to the day water conditions and the time during the season to determine what type will work best here in nl i find wet flies better in early to mid season while dry flies are better in late season but both work great all year long

Oh i see.. I didnt know that, I dont fish for salmon. I just know that trout mostly feed on insects near the bottom. Even though i dont have trout where i live either..

Hi,i have a Vision "SIKS" 15 " 2' 10 wt.The rod say's weigth is 36 - 40 gr.It's abouth 600 grains.If i buy a long belly line ,can i take a bigger caliber in grain than say's rod ?I thing in the cast,rod using power from D loop and operated whith weight only part of the line ,not all.So if i have anchored part of the line not loads the rod and rod don't operated whith this part,in cast kinetic energy cast the anchored part line his self cast the rest of line .In piece put on rod line in weight 1050 grains ?

Here you can open for usage abroad by registering for Frelsi abroad. Usage abroad is paid afterwards with a credit card, therefore you do not need to be concerned about topping up or the number being closed if your credit is finished.

i live and fish in NL as well and dont get me wrong ive got truck loads on the wet fly but when it comes down to it wet fly is a one trick pony slight to extreme angle down river and let swing thats it. now with the dry fly there is just so many ways to fish it in all water conditions straight up river,straight down river, drop cast , streaming , stripping in dead water, poping in slow water i mean i can go on and on here all of these methods work well

What are you even talking about? This is how you out yourself as a rookie folks. you can literally do all of those with a wet and sunk flies... You can strip,dead drift i,e francis, swing angles presenting the fly lateral vs straight, cast upstream.. You can' park it', you back shot it (drop it back straight)) etc .. There almost nothing between them besides the riffe hitch wake.. though the wet and sunk can fish at any depth. They can do all of those things a inch below or 6 feet below. Giving them almost a infinite amount of space that a dry cannot access. You could cast up stream and jig your francis to 10 feet under to 5 and then swing it with a leisenring lift to the surface. The fly gets closer to fish, pretty common sense there's more fish willing to move a foot or two. then many feet to the surface. This isn't even mentioning things like rain or winter/spring. When fish slow to a crawl.THERE A COLD BLOODED ANIMAL.... Dries are more exciting but these guys are filming a show. They used wets because there simplely more effective in this situation. That's your answer to why aren't they using dries. Unless you think you know more then klaus frimor who's lived off salmon fishing for decades and is a legend in salmon+under casting.

Salmon dry fly fishing very effective if you know what you are doing.
@MichaelPhillips-jw4bj
@MichaelPhillips-jw4bj 5 лет назад
@@roimari he didn't say it wasn't effective.. He said wet fly and sunk flies work better most of time.. Be hard to find any guide or lodge that says different.Fish a cold blooded animal and when temps are bad. Most of them rather move a foot then 5 to the surface. Dries are also not so great in the rain,,, You know thats klaus frimor guiding in this, right? there's a reason he choose sunk flies. when it came to get the film. Im sure if they had all the time in the world to get footage he'd use dries. There more exciting and a fine art to fish
