Seasons - Origin and Variation Across Earth. Types Of Seasons by Climate Zone
There are various types of seasons on this earth, determined by which climate zone one is in. In this video, I will share the origin of seasons! Searing heat. Freezing ice. Monsoon rains and dusty droughts. Spring. Summer. Autumn. Winter.
For hundreds of millions of years they have defined the rhythm of nature on our planet. They underpin the daily existence of billions of us today.
A product of the clockwork of the heavens. These are the seasons of Planet Earth.

For the koppen zones that are more demanding in climate requirements, there is also less variation and contreversy about places within that zone. As an example, all the major cities within the Dfa zone have similar climate. Toronto, Chicago, and Sapporo are all generally agreed upon to have hot summers and snowy winters. But with a zone as wide as the Cfa zone, there's a lot more contreversy. New York, Buenos Aires, and Orlando are usually considered to all be completely different climates from eachother.

The variation in sun hours between summer and winter solstice are remarkable but not as pronounced as in higher latitudes.

Thanks for these videos! The Seasons of Planet Earth chart uses the northern hemisphere for its seasonal temperatures (eg. July is summer), but stacks the climates as if we were looking at the southern hemisphere (ie. with icecaps at the bottom). For consistency, the order of the climate zones should be inverted, with tropical rainforest at the bottom and icecap at the top. That way, both axes will reflect the same hemisphere.

Imo the prevernal and serotinal seasons from the six-season ecological model are also useful for describing weather in most of the US. Its especially useful for where I live in South Carolina where we have a mixture of warm and cool days from the second half of February through March and hot summer-like temperatures but noticeably less rain from around the end of August through September. What's especially interesting is that many places in the US seem to have a "wetter" and "dryer" part of summer but whether that is towards the start or the end of summer can go either way.

@@Geodiode Indeed, the typical mediterranean landscape is not very green, but I happen to live in a bit of a different zone, which I think has a climate that's similar to the Pacific Northwest. I live in the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula, and since the wind here typically flows from ocean to land (westerlies), and that this area of the peninsula is so mountainous, our annual precipitation is unusually high for a mediterranean climate due to relief rain. I live in a Portuguese district that has about 1400 mm / 55 inches of rain per year, but I know that some cities in northwestern Spain score almost 2000 mm / 78 inches. I think it's the best of both worlds, we have pleasantly warm temperatures and abundant forests and water resources.

Can somebody explain to me why Uranus has an axial tilt of 98° instead of just 82° (90°-8°)? I thought the maximum would be 90° as after that the angle between the orbital plain and the rotation axis gets less than 90° on the other pole. And if that is not the case how do you decide which pole is the one to determine the axial tilt? Maybe through the direction of the spin?

The difference between fall and spring is totally cinematic. They’re similar because they’re transition months, yet they have totally different moods. Fall feels like everything is slowing down and going into a purgatory sort of state where the worst (winter) has yet to come. It’s really slow and drags on and on. In the spring everything is slowly returning to life, people are out more, plants start waking up. Animals are out and about making noises and the best (summer) has yet to come
@besses5271
@besses5271 11 месяцев назад
Here in the Mediterranean it’s quite the opposite. Fall is when temperatures cool down and rain comes aka life starts to spread and late spring is where Temperatures rise and announce a hot dry upcoming summer.
