A great review and explained extremely well. I have ordered a Seat Ateca 1.5 TSI DSG Experience, delivery end of March. My first ever Seat and all sounds good.
Great review, Dave. The Ateca is another future possible for me, so good to have your views on it. I’m a Seat fan, having owned 2 Alhambras, an Altea and an Ibiza (actually my wife’s) in the past. They are more or less VWs in slightly different clothing but usually offer better value for money than the VW model from which they are derived. I’ve already done as much research on the.revised Ateca as possible online and my conclusions are much the same as yours. That 1.5 tfsi is a damn good unit and that’s the version I’d have in xperience trim. Just a question of deciding when to change now. Cheers
Hi there Michael. Thank you for the comment. The Ateca is even a car I’d consider as it is a true all-rounder. With everything going on in the world right now it’s always good to see what offers dealers are makings.
Just ordered an Experience Lux to get the "toys" the lower models should have, Digital Cockpit, heated seats and windscreen. Moving up from a Leon FR with the 1.5TSI, so I know how it will feel on the road. Will keep it for 3 or 4 years then look at the new Ateca as that should be about by then. Good review, would love to see the Cupra Ateca review.
Sounds like you’ve picked the perfect spec Keith. I hope you enjoy your new Ateca. I will see about reviewing the new Cupra Ateca or perhaps Formentor if you’d like? 😉
Having the 69 plate fr model I'm happy with it, I like the mid life refresh but wish it had modernized its engines hybrid, electric etc. Might be worth the wait to upgrade when a fully new model comes.
The pre-facelift is still an amazing car and drives beautifully. The Formentor is that model to showcase the hybrid suv tech from the Seat group brand to begin with.
Hi Bear, we just got our Ateca 1.5TSi FR in white delivered, very happy with it. Only nibble is we had a Leon 1.4TSi FR, the engine felt a bit more lively in the Leon especially with lower revs.
Really good review . i just ordered the experience lux 2.0 dsg 150 diesel . looks like a good piece of kit . I thought about the 4 but went for fwd . See how it goes as i do around 14000 miles per year . just subscribed so look forward to future reviews .
Hi there Dave. Thank you for the comment. Sounds like you’ve chosen the perfect spec. FWD will give you that boost in fuel economy but if a cold winter appears, a couple of winter tyres should do the trick! Thank you for subscribing and hope you enjoy the channel.
Pick my FR up end on June but believe it or not I havent even sat in one. They didn't have any, couldn't get any , they blamed the EU but the sales guy pulled out all the stops and found me an FR. My main problem is the trim levels. Why do they put all this new tech into only the top 3 cars. I'm still not sure if my FR 2ltr diesel will have all digital dash or half and half. The spec sheet states 9.2" touch screen but doesn't mention the dials section so until June I won't know and I think ALL large SUV style cars these days should have leather as standard. 1 more thing NO ELECTRIC SOCKET IN THE BOOT. My 15 year old Peugeot has one WAKE UP SEAT, For 30 grand it should make coffee ☕ 😋
Great video, thanks. Hesitating about getting this model (1.5 manual, se technology) or a Volkswagen tiguan with similar specifications. Would you say Volkswagen is better and is worth the difference of price ?
Hi, I watched both Reviews of Ateca and Octevia, I need to choose one of them as my next Company car ( same specs more or less, same DSG/TSI 1.5L). what do you recommend between the 2 for daily usage If you had to choose? Thanks in advance.
Thank you for your comment and apologies for the late response. Personally I would recommend the Octavia. It’s a bit more practical and comfortable. If you can get the SEL first edition then you’re onto a winner.
You don’t get heated seats as you get a Climacoat windscreen which is far more useful in our market. Compare the cost with its rivals, and it’s extremely good value.
@@natashabailey5974 all I’ll say is Natasha that when you go and collect your car, ask for a test drive to see what it’s like and make sure you’re happy with your choice.
@@AutoBears yes but we're weird on many levels. Seat was here in the 90s I think with a couple of great cars b but they pulled out quickly and never returned even when they became part of VAG. I suspect they don't want them here in case they cannabalise sales from VW as we're a small market.
Fake exhaust pipes! Bit like fake bumpers that don't bump without breaking some lights. Back in the day, as an apprentice attending college, we learnt the saying Oxcart Design. Basically, the cart had wheel arches which were no longer needed. Some things don't change. Here today and 45 years later, we have the Oxcart Seat Attica with fake exhaust pipes.
