You, sir, are a genius! I tried for half an hour to do this on my 2007 Matrix without success. I was resigned to leave it the way it was and then I decided to check RU-vid. At first, I was skeptical because the tolerance on the buckle was so limiting, but it took me all of five minutes to fix it after watching this. Note: if you are unable to pull it through at first, make the crease from the other side and try it. I works like a charm! Thanks a million for posting this!
two of my seatbelts were like this out of nowhere and i had no idea this was such a common issue lol, it took me like 2 minutes to do the first one and like 20 seconds for the second one, thank you so much!
Thank you so much! I was about to take my seatbelt apart and reinstall it to face forward but this was so simple and worked like a charm. You saved me a lot of time and frustration. 😊
I have managed to turn the buckles around in my 2003 Jeep Wrangler in the past using tweezers, clamps, and long nose pliers. It took me anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes and caused a lot of aggravation. After watching this video it took me about 2 minutes and will take less than that if I have to turn one around again. Thanks, muchas gracias, vielen dank, merci, etc!
I literally thought mine was installed twisted. I’ve been wanting to fix this for so long and I finally watched this. Lol that relieved a lot of imaginary stress
Thank you ☺️☺️ guy in the garage told me that was the way it was supposed to be and there's no solution 🤬🤬 I watched this video and fixed it!!! I'd nearly call to that garage and show the guy!!! Thank you again ☺️
Had to comment, was having headaches with this, tried something similar but couldn’t get it through the smaller slit, tried it this way and walla. Thanks a mil 👍🏽
OMG... thank you so much! This was driving me crazy and I was going to take it into the dealership to fix. No telling how much they would have charged me. LOL Anyway -- great video and thanks again.
You have a bigger cap . Mines seems to be Skinner. No go 😔. So usein a heat gun on low wave . Or my iron to cress the metreal just enough to pull it through fast enough 😂👍🏼💪🏼. Thankyou for sharing. Brought my car in 1995 right now 2024 so my seatbelt buckle been like that since I brought it now. Since then no macanic has complained till now. at the testing station. Over the years no trouble with my belts.
Is no one gonna question how they end up like that in the first place? With the effort it takes to flip it around, how do you manage to manufacture it so it gets turned the wrong way by accident, and why does no one notice it?
I find they get flipped when the seat belt is released and allowed to just retract too quickly rather than just let it retract slowly. Kids are the worst for this. Also, look around the trim area where buckle flys back to its resting place and check out the minor damage to trims on centre pillar etc from buckle hitting trim at speed.
