I'm from WV. I was fishing just on the other side under the bridge 2 years ago. I caught fish i know nothing about but I was so excited to be using river lures to catch ocean fish! Thank you for posting. I can see exactly where I was and my goodness does it give me chills. I took my mother last year but caught nothing. It was the experience that mattered. We stayed at Colony Reef Club. I'll never forget my last 2 years there. Such a beautiful place and wonderful people!
JoJO see you in January 2020. John from NJ. Should be there everyday for the first three weeks in January. Great spot. Takes a bit to learn it. On a real windy day I venture RIGHT in calmer waters. Avoid the point heading to the OCEAN to your LEFT - many ROCKS! LOL.
Are they letting vehicles drive back down on the beach there at matanzas or is it still blocked off. I'm too damn old to carry all of my s*** down to the beach. Nice looking fish there dude. 👍🤔
Would be nice to see what type of rigging your using and a bit about your technique. Also, was this low or high tide. I’m assuming your on the north beach side of Matanzas bridge?
In Florida, you should always leave an opening on your stringer. If you were to catch a whopper Trout at the end of the day, you would have had to throw him back, unless you had a live fish to release from your stringer. Waves likely beating them to death.
I have been fishing there the past few weeks and have only caught a non keeper flounder what’s the best time of the day to fish here cus normally I fish north gwuana
Same i was at Surfside Beach yesterday and only hooked up with a monster stingray but didn't hook him he was just holding it got him close and he let go.
You cross Mantazas Bridge heading north and park in the FIRST lot to the right and walk down to this point at the base of the northern end of the bridge. Correct? Heading down there in January 2018 maybe as I am in Daytona Beach Shores at the Bella Vista Condos. I know that spot is hot from aerial views. What tide mark if any?
BTW on an aerial shot further up at the point or where the beach right angles to the bridge from the right parking lot and walking down I noticed a good rip current going out. Great spot!
Dude , if you will put your net in the bucket and shake the bait out you wont have chase em all over the beach flippin around getting sand all over em.
I go camping on rattlesnake Island which is across the inlet and will catch fish all day long. No trout unfortunately mainly catfish and sharks, couple crokers and blues. I also saw a huge gator last time I was there atleast 8+ feet never thought they were out there.
In response fished there four years ago, trying to catch sheep's head, which people were catching, well, looking at this video, and now, you know, eating crow
