I live in Seattle and lower queen anne is one of the worst now because of all of the robberies. I lived off of Mercer and the west side of queen anne ave and I lived in a secured building and people broke into it a bunch of times so I moved.
@@yungwaco Wow, okay, I get that where I live too, in Brighton UK, but it's what you look at I guess, what you focus on? I'm right in the centre of this city and there's plenty of that about, but I also love the cozy feelings I get as I walk the streets or at home sometimes too. Sorry you're in amongst that kind of grime x
I bought a coop apartment in West Capitol Hill a few years ago and the neighborhood is very similar to Lower QA. I looked at several units in QA too, even some of the buildings you're showing. The one things about living in a vibrant neighborhood like this is that there is a lot of crime. Theft is huge, car break-ins and interacting with drug addicts is common at night. I decided to rent my Captiol Hill apartment out because I felt unsafe at night letting my dogs out. There seemed to always being someone messed up on drugs trying to cause trouble. It was exhausting.
I've lived on lower Queen Anne for 37 years. I absolutely love it here. I'm fortunate that my place has an unobstructed view of downtown, the Needle, and Elliott Bay. Of course, it's much more crowded and expensive than when I first moved here - and there are tons of homeless people. My advice is to do your research before you move.
I'm having 2nd thoughts myself because of trying to find an affordable apartment that's not MFTE! Got too many investments/savings that would put me over the top of their limits. :/
Monica knows what she's doing! These are very affordable & hip condos right in one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Seattle. So much to do around here. A short walk takes you to a bike/walk path right on Puget Sound & from there you can bike to the Waterfront, West Seattle, Magnolia, Ballard and so on. These units are probably already pending! Thanks Monica, Cheers!
I miss Seattle so much! I'd love the first or third condo! Great video and please do a tour of Upper Queen Anne. I lived up there and we used to sit in our hot tub in the winter and watch the ships/ferries go in and out on Elliott Bay. The best view ever. And I have to say your coats in this video are so beautiful.
Love how you showed the neighborhood and not just the houses! Fall looks so nice there. I would love a video just walking around the neighborhood and seeing all the fall trees more
I have no intention of moving to Seattle but Monica did you sell me on this!! Out of all the real estate RU-vid videos I’ve watched, this one was the most telling and actually made me picture myself living in one of those apartments. So down to earth and to the point but still exciting. This career was meant for you👏🏻
ridiculous prices for a 1 bedroom. i hate how much units have gone up in the past 10 years smh. 10 yrs ago i could get a 2 bedroom apt for 800-899 now they are double or more.
Yes please show Upper Queen Anne next! I love living in West QA and it doesn’t get enough love, there’s lots of little neighborhood spots outside of the main blvd area
In a market of Million dollar homes in the Seattle area, you have showcased some of the hidden gems of Washington! Great job on the video! I hope to retire to the area in a few more years.
Lower Queen Anne was renamed Uptown in April by the Seattle City Council unfortunately! So lame, it will always be Lower Queen Anne in our hearts! Seattle resident here.
So weird.. I lived in seattle for 20 years.. (‘98-‘18). And it’s crazy how now it’s becoming popular. I loved my childhood there the first ten years, but after that, ehh. I will say it is a beautiful state (Wa in general). The city grew substantially in the last 5-7 years. Back then it was really quiet and simple, not much. But now it’s crazy. I could say way more, But I don’t want to be negative under someone else’s video. Queen Ann has good food FYI.
Ok, sophisticated woman with your cute fall outfits. 💚 Love Seattle!! The second place was adorable, a little small but you’re right it had a New York vibe.
Lived in Madrona 6 years years ago at an amazing Mother in Law one bedroom w washer/dryer for only $1450! Now like 80% of others, it has become an airbnb and could easily get $2450 a month as a rental unit. But I still think Madrona is the absolute best Neighborhood in Seattle along with all the east side Leschi/Madison Park FTW.
If you ever wanted to do a video about cities you'd recommend outside of Seattle that might be a good option for a slightly less than Seattle budget that'd be cool :)
Love this video. I was thinking of doing a video of my area (I am a realtor outside of Manhattan) but my skills are nowhere near your video skills... EXCELLENT job!!!!
I'm 10 seconds in and... wow amazing video, I'm already impressed! Missed your face and have been checking for videos every day, but I respect your journey and understand you will not be posting as much.
I am in love with that first one..... once I'm finished with school this coming year and I get a job I am going to put my saved down payment to good use. I didn't know I wanted to live in lower Queen Anne until I saw this
Unless you have wealthy parents who are willing to help out, you can’t afford Seattle on your own. Even with a college degree (I have 3 Masters and I can’t afford it). --She didn’t mention the HOA fees and the property tax. Plus the sales tax (not counting the realtor points/fees) on that first one is **over** $40,000. And there is zero parking. I moved out of Seattle in the 80s. If you want something truly affordable, just as cute, with parking and just as excellent walkability, Olympia is your best bet.
Have loved living in Lower Queen Anne. My favorite neighborhood. Really curious what 1-2 bedroom living is like in Upper Queen Anne. Could you show us an example of that in your Upper Queen Anne tour?
I moved to Seattle from Tokyo. I Hate Seattle😂 it’s impossible to feel safe here and omg the weather😂 people here are unfriendly and it’s so expensive to live in a tiny old apartment 😂 But your video makes me wanna move to Seattle😂
Great video. I love the first unit especially. But I can't imagine being on Pacific Time with my current job (which I love)... I'd have to start work at 5am!
Thanks for the tip about Kinnear Park... I will have to check it out. I live in Capitol Hill and I love the Space Needle. I can see it from my front door and I never pass up a chance to take a picture of it (I did tonight, in fact, when I was out shopping at 5th/Mercer). Oh, and I have to say that Hot Mama's Pizza is the best but I admit I haven't tried Big Mario's yet.
I clicked on this video out of curiosity and it's about my neighborhood! I love living in LQA, though the new arena/theatres in the SC can make it a little annoying to drive right before a game or a show but nothing too bad.
Awesome vid as always. Do people run dehumidifiers over there? I stayed in Capitol Hill for a month and noticed how humid it was in Seattle coming from Arizona lol like mold must be a huge issue there
That's true. They do have different vibes. The morons that run Seattle have turned the city into a disaster. There is literally nothing going on Downtown. What was once a great, thriving, downtown urban core that came alive at night and wasn't too big to feel lost in has been ruined and is now an unlivable hell hole. All those tall office buildings are virtually empty throughout the day. And all the stores and shops that lined the streets are all gone, most still boarded up. All the open spaces are taken up by the tens of thousands of homeless. They'll pitch a tent anywhere they can find a grass patch or a bridge to keep out of the weather. Again, the idiots that run the city decided to disband the group within the Seattle PD that patrols and helps clean up after the homeless population. So, anyway, that's the vibe in Seattle. I really hope Monica does well and helps to turn that part downtown into a nice, vibrant neighborhood. Here's what the rest of downtown looks like... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bpAi70WWBlw.html
love your videos monica! My boyfriend actually just signed with Coldwell banker yesterday! (in Calgary Alberta yesterday) hes excited to be apart of the coldwell family
Killer video, as usual Monica. The excellence is across all your channels. The condos look great with some pretty good pricing. They should go quickly. Hope you’re loving realtor life. How about a full Macan video soon. Please. Stay well and sis and parents. Best from just across the water, in Victoria.
When I lived there we still had the Sonics and parking was a nightmare even on not-game days. Game days? Forget about it. I'd just leave my car at work and get a ride.
@@schoolingdiana9086 fun parking times in the future...developers got the city to permit thousands of apartments, condos and row houses with NO parking as if everyone will be walkers or bikers. 🤷♀️
Great location if you mostly walk or use Uber/public transportation. It's a nightmare location if you have a car, no assigned parking and have to depend on parking in the street. Traffic is also a nightmare. I've lived in lower QA and loved being able to walk to so much but having a car did not make it an enjoyable experience.
If I might recommend qualifying how you're measuring 'best', or if it's best overall, then a few reasons why. Thank you :) Edit: I know you've listed some of the pros of being in LQA, but there are pros to living in any given neighborhood. Maybe just consider categorizing your videos? Like by price point, by amenities like walkscore, view, proximity to light rail, etc., and consider (diplomatically, of course) comparing and contrasting the neighborhood you're highlighting to other comparable neighborhoods.
This popped up in my recommended, not sure why? As someone who has lived in the Seattle area for the past 11 years, I'd definitely tell people there is no best neighborhood in Seattle. People in the wealthy neighborhoods still have to deal with breaking and enterings, there isn't the police force there used to be so you have homeless people camping all over the place leaving garbage. Used needles can be found on the ground. Seattle is way overpriced for living in a place that has become what Detroit was 30 years ago with the violence and crime. living outside the city is a much better option until the city fixes the issues, like people throwing rocks off the over passes at cars on the interstate, starting fires in their camps, etc.
Thanks for maybe the only fall I might see this year! We moved to Austin and fall truly doesn't exist here. I love the space needle only I'm not sure I would like to live close to it because of all the tourist traffic.
Love your video! thanks for the info ❤️ would you be open to doing a video on how to find the best rentals? I know that isn't your business as much but it would be so helpful as I'm considering Seattle as my next place to move
