This is not about politics, it's about the truth. The leaders we choose in Sierra Leone have outdated thinking. APC and SLPP are the same group of people running our nation with different parties names, running syndicates on our people for the past 65 years. The ideologies of these two parties cannot sustain the current situations of our global economies. Young men and women need to get involve in organizing themselves to create the future they need, not waiting on these politicians.i believe the changes we need today in Sierra Leone will come from our young people. Our government is clueless about solving problems. A problem like this can be solve by using prisoners with minor prison sentences to clean up these beaches and give them credits to reduce their sentences. Also having a program, where you give people options who committed petty offenses, instead of putting them in jail, and give them options to do community services. The government can also hire private cleaning company and contracted them for every 3 years to allow others to compete with them so you can get quality work done. Or you let me run it.Thanks!

Triple-A! Thanks for your brilliant work in bringing Salone's affairs to us all over the world 👏👏. You've probably covered Lumley/Aberdeen more than Salone's other beautiful beaches. This one is most appalling & should be concerning to all Sierra Leonans. It may be quick & easy to say something like climate change, it's good for the ocean because the dirt/debris get washed off...But common, let's not kid ourselves - it was never like this before the 90s or early 2000s. What's happening before our eyes is no joke. Salone's pride & joy "beautiful beaches" known to the whole wide world is going down the drain fast & sad. I swam at Lumley several months ago, but after seeing this video I'm now worried about "myself". I saw a few people cleaning the beach back then, but what manpower can deal with the current condition. I saw a recent video of Lakka beach & was disappointed with the amount of seaweed that looked so scary. Further, I also noticed seaweed at River #2 when I was there which surprised me a bit because it was a shock seeing it for the first time there. Anyways, I watched the video all the way to Gigibonta Ice Cream Parking Lot 😊🇨🇦

This is so sad!! I was hoping to sun bath at Lumley during my 2024 October visit… I guess not anymore. I will probably escape to Laka beach. I have craved this beach for 16 years during my stay in USA… why does this happen now when I want to visit. It’s not fear oh!

Feel so sad for our Lumley and Aberdeen beaches. 90 percent of Lumley residents have no dumpster… they throw everything in the ocean. We are getting back the mess we have created.

This is disappointing and disappointing for the authorities in charge of tourism. There is seaweed all over the world beaches, the Caribbean is worst but they have mechanisms in place to clean the beaches during that period. This is just negligence and by the way thank Triple A for bringing this to our attention.

Hello, Triple-A. Thank you for this video. Seeing how disgusting the area can get was disheartening, and I am not talking about the seaweed. I mean the level of trash people so comfortably toss in Sierra Leone - In the streets, the gutters, little bormehs everywhere, the market...show me a place people can access, and you will most certainly see trash and garbage all over it. As nature would have it, all that crap comes right back to us. Would you like to talk about making our beautiful country a tourist destination? Who on this planet wants to spend their hard-earned cash to come see this for fun? I hope this teaches our people a lesson - no invisible hand will wisk your trash away. You dump it on Mother Nature, and now she's sending it back with interest! We see how the garbage impacts flooding, especially with increased rain accumulation during the rainy season. We are witnessing another example of how mismanaging our resources and blessings warns us of the soon-to-be inevitable, unfathomable outcomes. Like I said, it's disheartening and disgusting! That was the trash side of this sad equation - but even the seaweed side has a lesson for us - besides the visible trash (like plastics, bottles, rubbers, and who knows what else), there is also runoff that we need to take seriously - the runoff from fertilized fields, from the many bike and car washes all over the place and other human waste. We need a comprehensive review of all of this to understand and appreciate how our actions have a domino effect on the environment. At this point, I'd dare to suggest that the effect is almost geometric. This is a beautiful country, a miraculous gift, but perhaps, like all gifts, it will be taken for granted until we earn it back. Oh, and don't get me started on the other atrocities - like rampant deforestation, unchecked burning, air/water/soil pollution, and... you know what? I don't want to work myself up on this lovely Sunday. We have an opportunity here to learn something from the numerous challenges we face - some natural, but most of our own making. We must step up and appreciate the reality of what is staring at us. Hiding our heads in the sand and/or becoming indignant/outraged because of the truth is meaningless, a severe own goal. This planet was granted to us as a gift, but it does not need us to be a planet. The universe is loaded with planets out there that are devoid of life, and they are doing just fine. Anyway, thanks for the shoutout, Triple-A. As per the community requirement, I watched from Aberdeen Beach to the Jiggy Bunter parking lot. Thank you, Triple-A, for sharing-strike that-for showing us this hard truth. It's a tough pill to swallow, but we need these hard truths to help us better understand ourselves and how we can improve and do our part for our only home. I prefer this reveal to hiding it and showing some unreal things in a few months during the festive seasons while people continue to do all the destructive things that lead to this event. I think, this is a gift of nature! Seaweed contains precious fatty acid that protect the heart. Every day I take such pill as food supplement. It is also an ingredient of sought delicatessen like nori in Japan. Local residents should perceive this unique chance for business.
