In 2021 - at the very start of the UN Decade of Ecosystem Restoration (2021-2030), Seawilding have become Scotland’s first community-led seagrass restoration project. In addition to their already successful Native Oyster restoration project, their aim is to reinforce the fragmented seagrass meadows of Loch Craignish, Argyll. The project is developing best-practice, low-cost methodologies using a mobile seagrass seed processing unit. The community are developing a “how-to” practical guide, with the aim of rolling-out community-led seagrass restoration to other coastal communities.

We need more of this stuff. Thank you for keeping the "climate change" to a minimum.

We are restoring and creating valuable aquatic habitats across North America with our top goal of providing refuge for sensitive species of fish and plants. Most of this work is on private lands where our clients have generously helped these species, especially trout and salmon. One day we would love to help the Atlantic salmon of Scotland.

Inspiring efforts to sow seeds of seagrass in Loch Craignish, and also redevelop viable oyster populations.

Cracking video, I hope this project or similar ones can spread throughout our communities to help raise awareness and provide opportunities to take positive steps to help nature and make a difference in the climate crisis.

Very nice, but no mention of the ecological disaster caused by industrial salmon “farming” all over the west coast of Scotland.
